EFC press release

Recommended Posts

fot the lazy amoungst us...........

From the Enfield FC Press Office.

The latest situation is as follows.

As you know our former chairman Mr Lazarou has been suspended from all football by the Football Association for his failure to pay a fine of £17,500 by 1 October 2003 and his failure to repay a loan of £255,000 to the company which owns the club - EFC (Holdings) Ltd - by the same date.

At this time, Mr Lazarou cannot be an officer of the Club, nor can he be a director of any company running the club. In suspending Mr Lazarou alone, the Football Association were very keen not to damage Enfield Football Club.

Since then, First Team Manager Mr Terry Back has been appointed as Club Chairman but, unfortunately, Mr Lazarou has not resigned as a director of EFC (Holdings) Ltd.

As a result the FA are now considering suspending the Club from all football as well, until Mr Lazarou resigns as a director of EFC (Holdings) Ltd.

Unfortunately, although a Mr Edward Penn acts as company secretary, there are no other directors of EFC (Holdings) Ltd. The Football Association realise that under company law, no company can continue to trade without a director.

The suspension, if implemented, would remain in place until Mr Lazarou’s resignation as a director is confirmed and someone comes forward willing to replace Mr Lazarou as a director of EFC (Holdings) Ltd.

Hmm....

... me thinks there is some skullduggery here.

Think about it, who from THE club could issue this?

Terry - nope. Not his style of writing (enough said)
Ed - nope. Ditto Terry.
Laz - nah.......

Who else is there that could be bothered to log on late at night and set up an ID to write this 'masterpiece' ?

Besides the fact, and I stand to be corrected, there are two factors to consider (1) it's not on the OFFICIAL website and (2) Enfield FC don't actually have a "press office".

I did wonder about this not being not on the website, Derek. Nothing on the FA website either. However, it does seem in keeping with Lazarou not to resign from Enfield FC out of sheer spite. Who actually provides you with details for the EFC website, Derek? or do you have to go searching for your information. It's possible that it just hasn't filtered through to you through 'official' channels yet.

Morning Neil,

I fully understand your comments.

The Club are quite 'happy' for me to continue to update the web site for them - so we're back to the situation of when I first set it up - I will only put up / can only put up what they advise me, which, by implicaton, means I will NOT go "searching for information" or 'news'. The ONLY exception to this rule is if I attend a game... Yes, of course it is "possible that it just hasn't filtered through to [me] through 'official' channels yet"

Enjoy your day.

'The Club don't have a 'press office'.'

Didn't Lazarou pay over £200,000 a few years ago,to buy a property in Edmonton, that he claimed, among other things, was a press office.?

Ok, but you are being TOO literal... you are talking assets (ie the building at Bath Road) I was talking entity (ie the 'function'.
