What were the arguments made for Winslow to get promoted then?

 

Last year I would have said it was fully deserved but it does seem an odd one when they havent got it right on the pitch.

IMO with Bletchley folding it left both Division One and Division Two with an odd number of clubs thus meaning two sides would be kicking their heels on full matchdays. So surely it made sense to promote one club from Division Two into Division One at the AGM.

Lol. Not denying that Karen but Winslow finished 7th?!!? I am aware that they are the only club in Div 2 with facilities but shouldnt they have earned promotion on the pitch?

Some one had to go up and if Winslows ground is the only ground up to it then there wasnt much choice.

So, if everything is about the ground and facilities and not what goes on on the pitch, why werent they put straight back into Div 1 when they reformed?

 

Rather than allowing clubs who dont even have a ground to play at that level? (benfica, tokyngton, etc)

 

It just seems a little inconsistent.

Yes definitely. I could argue we did last year based on Woodson Parks promotion but finishing 4th is not good enough and no better than 7th. And BSFC Hahahaha very true

....cut and pasted from Hoddesdon Towns prog but healthy none the less.

 

I see the league decided to rotate again this year and so awarded the div1 prog award to Cockfosters. Well done to whoever does their prog. I have a copy at home from when we visited. Much better than ours....

Our club secretary Brian Barter got the Secretary's award and the club received the discipline/respect award for the Premier division.

Biggest joke was in 2003-04 when Amersham Town finished 2nd from bottom in Div 2 and got promotion to make numbers up. They even got docked 12 points for "cheating"

That was half the argument feeling they had done the right thing by dropping out before the season rather than having no team getting hammered each week and quitting half way through. Tik tok example was brought up that after their suspension were allowed to rejoin Div 1.
