SSML AGM - Saturday 16 June

Recommended Posts

Karen - I know that Club's are 'un-officially' only allowed two delegates but some bring friends, wives, girlfriends and kids don't they who buy a drink and then go out and kick their heels in the car or walk around Cow Lane until the meeting is over.

Do we need to get a bouncy castle this year then? Can't say I've noticed the extra 200 or so people the last few years. They certainly haven't been coming into the ground. I doubt club committees are having to draw lots for their members desperate to attend

Do you get a bigger crowd for the AGM or the refs meetings?

I thought Hoddesdon always go mob handed, I know Roger, Jane and Jonno have all been in attendance previously

Wow a three person delegation is mob handed, but I'm sure you will find that a lot of clubs only send one delegate so it cancels itself out in the long run.

Isn't sending just one delegate to the AGM a rarity, it's a unique opportunity to rub shoulders with the SSML's great and the good in one room isn't it and I'm sure in 99% of cases each Club's respective Chairman and Secretary both attend

The recent ref meetings have had some good speakers. Howard Webb & Graham Taylor must have both topped 120 & probably close to 3 figures for the others. In theory the AGM should be in that range too.

Tring Army - How much are Tring Athletic's bar takings per year out of interest, a ball park figure will do

Loosely - What were the Bedfordshire County League AGM's like out of curiosity, was there a restriction on delegates from each Club

Yeah Rhodesy, like they all brought their whole teams, the WAGS, the kids, friends, neighbours, anyone they could drag off the streets - you know - they were mental. Most people went on the understanding that it would be a throw your car keys in the bowl type of thing. Went on all night - into the morning.

If the bar took less then £38bn it was considered a bad night Rhodesy.

Here, you'd of done well, selling your shopping bags full of fake viagra. Do you still deal because I heard this years SSML AGM is going to be a whopper? Shame they wouldn't let you in the door though......

Loosely - I only asked what the Bedfordshire County League AGM's were like so I don't know why you are being so evasive, presumably they were held at the same venue every season, similar to the SSML, due to the inadequate size of many of the Club houses and lack of car parking space

Loosely - Which were the better Club house facilities in the Bedfordshire County League out of interest, were you allowed by Biggleswade Town to put the Carlsberg Stadium forward for the AGM venue in 2010

Strangely you are continuing this off topic stuff Rhodesy. Can't think why.

I note you are off the leash, I wonder how long that will continue.

lol, was before the merger with the Spartan League

Personally been to Hillingdon, Harefield, Kents, Langford and Caddington. In 20 years attending these, cannot recall Harpenden though.

I think I remember going to Ruislip Manor in the past. Does anyone else ?
