SSML AGM - Saturday 16 June

Isn't it a bit unfair to hold the AGM at the same venue every year, Tring Athletic must be rubbing their hands

Don't forget that Tring Athletic also hold all the SSML Referees meetings.

Like I said I just think it's a bit unfair that's all, what's wrong with holding the AGM at a Club 'down south' for once such as Haringey Borough or Hanwell Town where there's ample car parking and bar space

It's all down to size !!!!

OD's - Yes, perhaps you should re-phrase that, seriously though, like I said, Coles Park and Reynolds Field have plenty of car parking and bar space

Any income out of season is good but hardly lucrative. Not too many people on the beers at 11am yet alone working their way through the spirits.

Where else have they been in the past? I went an EGM at Crawley Green a couple of years back. Did they ever use Kent Athletic? Guess as ODs says it needs to be somewhere big enough to hold 2 officials from each of say 55-60 clubs plus up to 20 league reps.

Don't get me wrong as I'm not knocking Cow Lane, it's an excellent venue and Tring are a nice Club however to constantly hold the League AGM there gives the impression of favouritism

Pragmatic I would call it, central for most clubs and a good size. Great club too, most welcoming, we have great games with them every season. Just good common sense by the SSML.

Rhodes - So what type of favouritism would they get then ?

OD's - Well in terms of bar takings, hosting an AGM with all 58 SSML Club's represented by three or four members is a nice little earner for the host Club, TringArmy makes a fair enough point when he says that not too many people will be on the ale at 11.00 let alone working their way through the spirits but they're not all going to be on the wagon either.

You obviously haven't attended many AGM's in your lifetime Rhodes. Clubs are represented by two delegates only and having got an initial drink it is very rare people keep getting up and returning to the bar during the meeting.
