European Championship 2012

Recommended Posts

The Euros start on the 8th June and I always like to have a little bet on it.

At the moment I'm thinking of having an each way bet on Italy at 14/1.

With all the football brains that are (sometimes) evident on this forum perhaps you could give me your considered opinions.

Although I would like England to win I cannot see it happening.

I would go with Germany as well, they have a tough group but should get out of it then their quarter final should be fairly easy as they would play one of Poland, Greece, Russia, Czech republic . So fancy them to get to the semis.

They are a very solid team and after being beaten 5-3 by Switzerland the other day they will be motivated to do well.

I personally think Italy will struggle to get out of their group!

My money is on Germany, although seeing how ridiculous this season has been, it wouldn't surprise if a complete outsider wins Euro 2012, and that includes England!!!

Having seen all the whole squads in the Daily Mail yesterday.I thought Holland look more than useful given the players they have.

You can never write off the Germans because of their mentality but what I thought puts a question mark over them,is most of their squad play in Germany.Which isn't as good as La Liga,Serie A or the Premiership.

Spain and France have got to be the other favourites.

Would like to think Roy Hodgson's England will do well but am worried by the keeper situation because if Joe Hart gets hurt,we're in big trouble.Don't see Robert Green as an England keeper and there's too much pressure on untried Jack Butland.Should have taken Paul Robinson because of his vast experience and Ben Foster as back up.Like David Stockdale of Fulham, too.

England remind me of Slough- Good keeper, some very good defenders, midfield not sure what you're going to get and many appear on their last legs.Upfront some quality but doesn't always come together! lol!

Personally think the Germans will end up knicking it. I think first game is key for England - get a decent result against France and I reckon they'll get to the semis. Otherwise, won't get out of the group.
