Cockfosters

Recommended Posts

I see that Anton Lewis swept the board at Cockfosters awards presentation on 5 May winning both first team player's player of the year and the first team's leading goalscorer gong having netted 22 times for the Chalk Lane outfit last season despite a disappointing campaign where the Club finished a distant ninth. Other award winners included Tom Jansons who won first team player of the year and Jack Cook, young player of the year.

Anton is a rare beast, a goalscorer, and a really nice guy to boot. Fully deserved his awards. I would also point out that the club will do very well to hold on to Jack Cook. I believe with the right guidance, he could be a league player. He's tall, athletic, can head the ball, tackle, and pick a pass. In amercian parlance he's a 5 tool player. Also Lorenzo had a great end to the season, and would have been right up there for player of the year i'm sure. I think a few full backs are still trying to untwist themselves from him turning them around.

Domcassells - You seem to have a soft spot for Cockfosters, the Club are another Hoddesdon Town and Harpenden Town aren't they whereby they are punching above their weight in Division 1 but can't seem to get themselves back into the Premier Division where they belong.

Expect Cockfosters to do well this year with the new management in place. Lots of old Enfield Town/Edgware players expected. Lots of experience coupled with the good young players will have a good team for that division

Yeah, i played for them from Novemeber till the end of the season, under the 3 different managers, and even helped out with the coaching and assistant manager duties when i was injured for a few games.

No money there as far as I know. A 1st team management team who have a lot of experience playing at a high level and a reserve team manager who is young and in his first season as a manager. If they can use their contacts should do a lot better then last season.

Are there many clubs in Div.1 with a budget though ?

I'd be very surprised if there were.

So difficult to say and a lot of times when they do they go to great lengths to say they don't for some strange reason. I would have thought 5 or 6 will be paying something. It's been suggested Hoddesdon are, Crawley green defo will or Shrievesy wouldn't be there they have to be a good bet this year, kings Langley may well be chucking some money at it there will be a few others no doubt

Cockfosters are a great club, last season they had the 3rd highest average attendance, they get a good solid crowd in every other week. Roachey and the rest of the management team, did a great job at the end of the season, and i think they will have big plans for next season. I have signed for another SSML club, otherwise i would have been down there to throw my hat in the ring for another season with them for sure. I wish them luck, not too much for obvious reasons.

This may look weird but club have a little group of russian speaking sympathizers over former great USSR countries, club`s homepage admin should notice some unusual traffic. At first it was some fun flash-mob, you know, be a glory-hunters of a "place where people foster cocks" and such thing, but then nonleage football was discovered as some slice of football life we never seen. All this cute pitches with excelent grass, and skill level was much better than we could imagine. So we keeping an eye on our fist sight nonleague club and will be glad to get more information about it, more than club`s homepage afford, actually, it much worse than their match programmes.

Hope Lorenzo Ferrari still with a club, I`m his personal fan.

:)

Go Cockfosters!!!

Anyone know if Cockfosters game V Met Police is on today? Hoping to go and have a look?

...you might want to make a few calls due to a] the weather and b] the respective websites having different KO times - MP Bushey shows 14:00 Cockfosters have 15:00h.

Then again might it be played on a 3G/Astro thing so maybe not affected by the wet stuff?
