How are these youngsters going to get the right Coaching though, when we have the lowest level of Qualified Coaches amongst the Top Countries. And when you find a gem and spend years working with him,the BIG BOYS nick him for free.Football is like School ,have a decent teacher you have a chance.Guernsey are well set though in having Zico Black and Tardif running their Soccer Schools, they must be coining it in.Most children if the result did not count, would give up Football. That can be seen in any Parent v Kids game watch the passion they show.So are the F.A.'s going to purchase all the new Goals that would be needed, and find lush playing surfaces for them to train/play on,of course not.We should get rid of all the old dodderers at the F.A.'s that would be a start.

Smudge; I would have to agree with the issue on playing surfaces. It's fine having smaller pitch's and trying to improve skill by having more touches but this cannot be achieved when we are trying to coach this to kids on playing surfaces which resemble the Somme! The FA must spend money on improving facilities for this whole new plan to work! I heard heard that this could be resolved by introducing 3G pitch's? Who's paying for that???

Look at the Dutch, Spanish etc, etc, Set up for youth football... Then think who wins more in the senior set ups. When you are akid it is all about fun, Too much emphasis is placed on winning and not enjoying especially at a young age. I think in many European countries they don't have leagues as such just play games in the youth set ups..

Weebs, I hear what you say, its true, that is why in general European kids are more better tecnically and more skilful than of those from the UK. But there are kids that are born with a winning mentality, some even from a very young age, but at what age do you think pplayers should be taught to have a winning mentality, 'cos the older you get this becomes more paramount in the build up of a player ?
