OH NO WHATEVER NEXT ......

Recommended Posts

Well its only gone thru' the FA Pilot Scheme for Roll on off, and roll on subs has been approved by FIFA !

This, by the sounds of it, will be introduced in youth football U17 and U18. Men's football below step 7 and the Suburban (reserves) league next season, I'm not sure about CCL - perhaps Whitelaw can inform us ?

Please, what advantage has this got ? Will it make the game more exciting ? It will only to bring pressure on the match officials with more extra controls needed and more unnecessary administrative paperwork for clubs secretaries. Can you imagine naming the subs who came off and then went back on, then came off on the team sheet  !!!

Hold on, we have a penalty, but our penalty taker has been subbed, but its okay we can bring him back on to take it !!!

Well we are up against this holding onto our lead with a few minutes left, I know, lets make a sub every few seconds to delay and waste time ,,,,,,,,,,, and finish the game at 6pm !!!!

We have a corner, hold on ref my subbed centre forward goes back on, then when corner taken he's pulled off again........you all get my drift !

,

What utter complete nonsense.......... !

.....now there's talk of stopping the penalty shoot out ...........has FIFA got nothing else to do with their time ............. :o !!!!

I've been led to believe that it's up to the step 7 and below leagues to vote it in/out independently, can anyone confirm ?

If you had read the thread on SSML site with a bit more care, you would already know it is Step 7 and below. So in no way affects Step 6 and 5,which the CCL comes under.

in all fairness Smudge why would a prick like Nice Guy be on the SSML forum?...............unless it was to discuss b0ll0x with Rhodes

To be fair I think this is aimed at the lower level leagues like the SAL. They all run 6 or 7 or more sides and it can be quite difficult getting numbers especially for the likes of the 6s, 7s, 8s etc, so this would be a good way of keeping the lesser players happy and keep turning up by getting them minutes in games rather than sitting them on the sidedline and slinging them on for the last 5 / 10 minutes.

The vets leagues have used this for a few seasons now and it doesn't cause any problems. The ref doesn't need to keep track of the subs, they simply exchange at the half way line and he carries on. All he need do is check theres still only 22 on the pitch and if he's sent anyone off they don't sneak back on

Interestingly, West Wickham of the afformentioned SAL put it to the vote of their members and it was defeated so at their League AGM they will be voting NO

From the last minutes I can see, the Surrey Intermediate League is considering introducing it. They are awaiting some information from Surrey FA before putting the proposal to its member clubs.

Surrey is recommending that all leagues of the appropriate level adopt the trial (Which will run over two seasons).

The F.A.'s are panicking big time, their latest way is to encourage more youngsters to play,is for YOUTH GAMES Under 9's to not to have LEAGUE TABLES.As results do not count in the bigger picture.Really all about their REVENUE,as less people are actually playing Football nowadays, which means less FINE MONEY for them.

I dont agree there Smudge, what the FA are trying to do is to improve young footballers, smaller pitches, less competitiveness, more about improving their skills. Been done this way on the Contienent for years. Spain are light years ahead of England.

How are these youngsters going to get the right Coaching though, when we have the lowest level of Qualified Coaches amongst the Top Countries. And when you find a gem and spend years working with him,the BIG BOYS nick him for free.Football is like School ,have a decent teacher you have a chance.Guernsey are well set though in having Zico Black and Tardif running their Soccer Schools, they must be coining it in.Most children if the result did not count, would give up Football. That can be seen in any Parent v Kids game watch the passion they show.So are the F.A.'s going to purchase all the new Goals that would be needed, and find lush playing surfaces for them to train/play on,of course not.We should get rid of all the old dodderers at the F.A.'s that would be a start.

I agree, hopefully getting more qualified coaches is high on the FA's agenda...
