Good to see that the reserve team is to come back, we have really needed that link from under 18s to first team, especially considering our number of youth players will increase with the academy setup starting up. I saw on Twitter last night that they are looking at entering the Hellenic league, which I would assume puts them into one of the division 2 leagues? If that is true I guess it would probably the east one given the team locations http://www.hellenicleague.co.uk/results/2east.html

The reserves will play out of Farnham Park. I'm looking forward to watching the reserves in the same spirit we used to go along to Capital League games!

thought FA discouraging reserve teams in main body of pyramid. Hellenic does though have a seperate reserve league, even though there are at present some in divisions 1 west and east. As no lights at Farnham Park can not see entry to main league as a new side, they are trying to get existing teams up to required standards.

Yeah I was surprised that Farnham park was announced as reserve home! I'd have thought flood lights and a fully enclosed pitch were the bare minimum!

The pitch will be fully enclosed..........with a rope!!!

Do they not rent temporary flood lights at Farnham Park?

 

I can't see that side of things really being an issue if they don't have any. Plenty of sides in the Combined Counties don't have them and just play earlier kick offs as a result.

I think the league we're playing in are quite relaxed about things. If the reserves were to get promoted it would be a bit different.

Tom - that is true at the moment, but I understood that the FA minimum requirements were being applied more consistently from now on. Thought leagues had a few years grace, and then had to relegate clubs without the requirements.

 

Think the idea of a reserve team is a good one though.
