Savagebee - Well Karen said that the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round will be on Saturday 11 August so your friendly with Northwood will unfortunately have to be postponed if the SSML season starts the week before

It seems alot of other step 5 leagues are starting on 4th August. Nothing from SSML yet.

Is the 4th to early ???

 

Yeah we have a home friendly on the 4th against Northwood :unsure:

Same here, We play Kempston Rovers on the 8th. I expect alot of friendlies might bite the dust. Edited by OD's

The reason for the early start is the FA Cup Preliminary Round is on Saturday 11th August due to the Champions League Final being held at Wembley in 2013. Therefore most leagues will ensure clubs have at least one league game before the FA Cup starts.

 

As SSML have not stated anything yet officially the smart money is on a start date of Saturday 4th August.
