CEO's perspective on the past, present and future for MFC

Without being patronising-one of the most balanced summations i have read in years.

Pleased Mr Egan is not being overly ambitious for next season.

Most reassuring thing is that the 'business performance' is strong.

(hopefully that would still be the case without the appiah 'one-off windfall which will soon disapppear )

Yep-liked and appreciated that read-and feel better about the medium term prospects.

obviously a lot of hard work been/is going on to get the additional funding.

I have to say that I ended the season in a very disillusioned state of mind.

People have worked hard both in the board room and in the back room to stabilize the club over the last few years. "KP", a sometimes controversial character, as been tireless in is efforts to build the new stadium. I have always found "KP" very approachable, if I have had a question then he has always been open and answered as best as he could.

"Cliff Egan" as worked miracles on the financial side. I don't know how he keeps going, running a club to the standard "Cliff" does is a full time job. This must put a big strain on him as he also has to run his own business.

"Wendy", in the office works flat out accommodating the work loads of both the club and the development also, many times goes beyond the call of duty to get things moving in the right direction.

"Graeme" the groundsman as worked miracles to get the best out of a pitch we all have opinions about.

I have seen the hours that "Winkle"has put in, making the dressing room logistics run to precision.

"Tam Mckenna" and the M,I,S,A, guys have also worked miracles to keep things going, from outside catering, supplying the board room and players hospitality to painting white lines and mending damaged toilets.

I myself have not been as active this year due to a back problem which has curtailed my lottery canvassing activities activities since November.

As I said at the beginning I was very disillusioned and yes, disappointed with the attitudes of certain paid personal, ones who seemed to be taking their wages and not putting in a shift to warrant it. I know we had nothing to play for at the end of the season but, I have always worked to the principle that if you take a mans shilling, you do that mans bidding and, to the best of your ability or, you move on. I saw a lot of taking the schilling but not a lot of the giving in some cases.

Anyway the 2011/2012 season is know at an end, by the time the 2012 / 2013 preseason starts i hope my disillusionment will have turned to hope for a successful new season.

A good morale boosting interview after a disappointing season. However, as Cliff says, there were probably more positives from last season than we realised, especially behind the scenes. Really looking forward to next season now. It will be interesting to see what the benefits are concerning the delay in ground development. Well done MFC.

I read that Mr Egan is looking to improve communication with supporters.

Frankly-i think its second to none already in terms of amount of info and speed of delivery so hard to see how it can be improved upon-first class already considering MFC are part time.

That given-i do note that the 'eshots' don't seem to be happening these days as originally penned by CE and subsequently by WW.

By no means the end of the world-but i thought a good idea-maybe no resounding success-but you have to 'stick at it-and as per everything-enjoy slow steady growth in readership.

As long as the eshot had one or two bits of - 'exclusive' info / hot off press info /email only offers - then i thought a good idea-and maybe encouragwe people to submit their email address which can then be used for other marketing

(again appreciating it takes time and effort to produce. )

Spot on with the Newsletter and subsequent Emails, Michael, and thanks for your comments about what we do already. We certainly feel we do a good job for a club at our level and above!

I used to write the newsletter in consulatation with Cliff but it took relatively an enoumous amount of my time which was better invested elsewhere in the club. It is always interesting to see the reaction when those things stop and there was none.

A similar thing happened with the WW Eshot which was initiated by Clubdraw, but frankly an Eshot exclusively to promote this lottery even when benefitting the Community Programme had to have other news-worthy content or it would simply be ignoired by most people. I edited that too but when we withdrew that, there was a similar reaction to the Newsletters.

It's really on the back of those experiences and the growth in social media that has encouraged us to look again at options for improving our communicating with supporters.
