Grant McLellen Youth Cup (C.C.L Youth Cup) Thursday 17th May

Recommended Posts

At the third time of asking, the youth team will go head to head with

Camberley Town U18's

as they look to seal a second impressive season with victory in the

Grant McLellen CCL Youth Cup Final

at

Cobham FC

on Thursday night.

Knaphill U18's

will look to go one better then last season as they bid to win the

Grant McLellen CCL Youth Cup

for first time in their two year history.

Last season saw us lose to

Bedfont Sports

in the final and this time round we face

Camberley Town U18's

.

Camberley

run two under 18's side, one in the

Allied Counties Premier

and one in the

Ryman League

so no doubt tonight's fixture will provide a stern test for

Gary Taylor's

talented team.

However, the young guns cup exploits are one on the main highlights of their campaign and they more then capable of beating higher ranked opposition on their day.

Gary Taylor

will have a full squad to choose from including leading goalscorer

Josh Hughes

pictured, who can provide a real handful, something S

andhurst Town

witnessed when he netted six goals in a 7-4 win a month ago.

Camberley's route to the final:

First Round Bye

Sandhurst Town 4-0

Horley Town 5-0

Bedfont Sports 2-0

Knaphill's route to the final:

Guildford City 6-3

Eversley 1-0

Molesey 5-4 win on pens, 1-1 AET

Epsom & Ewell 1-0

Kick off is 7.45pm at Cobham FC

4-1 to Camberley but I understand the scoreline does not reflect the closeness of the game.

Well done to Camberley on winning and Knaphill for making the final again.

Knaphill U18's hopes of ending the season with silverware were dashed as they were beaten 4-1 by there higher rank opposition Camberley Town U18's in theGrant McLellen CCL Youth Cup Final on Thursday night.

Despite taken the lead through leading goalscorer Josh Hughes, clinical finishing proved the difference between the two sides and Camberley finished as worthy winners.

The final was marred as no fewer then four cars were broken into in the Cobham FC car park, three cars owned by Knaphill players and one from Camberley.

NG, Yes Jonny Coats did play although it was not one of his best performances, good prospect though!, Why you ask?

Trenty, he's on my radar !

The lad has good technical ability, balance, vision, makes decent runs from midfiled, comfortable on the ball and a decent left foot if my memory serves me well.

I understand he packed up playing but recently returned back to playing football after being disillusioned and lost interest in the game, but has now got his appetitie back. to enjoy playing again.
