Anthony Williams never played for Whyteleafe (his brother Richard did and famously broke his leg taking a throw in). Ant was at Chipstead.

 

Taff played for us and also for Croydon Athletic. We set fire to his "Taff - we love ewe" flag at the Crem when he moved there. It's flammability was unsatisfactorily.

Hayden Bird brought in a lot of new players at the back end of the season, think there's probably only two or three left from when Ant was there and only one of those from Graeme's time. But I expect a few ex-Merstham/Whyteleafe players might show up there.

What's happening about Croydon athletics ground are they going to get it back?

 

The lease on the old ground is still in the possession of the owners of the old club. The Council, who are owed considerable rent, are seeking to obtain that lease back. Several meetings have taken place between the new club and senior Council officers which means we are confident that when this happens we will be in a position to secure a new lease on the stadium and return there in due course.

 

In the meantime, we are grateful to Croydon FC and indeed the Council for accomodating us at the Arena for this coming season and looking forward to the new season!
