Banstead are now looking for a new manager as Dave Tidy has now gone to manage Farnborough reserves.

 

God knows what i'm doing next season then! I'm like the Craig Bellamy of combined counties! Going for a record of how many clubs i can play for i think!

Farnborough Reserves were bottom of Suburban Premier 'A' Division so will they get relegated ?

 

Well Cards, you can always stay at Banstead and play CCL Div. 1 !

 

You must have an issue why you play for so many clubs? Its usually a club offers you money or you do not get a start, so subsequently go to a club where you would start each week, I could be wrong ?

 

If you carry on you'll have a worse track record than Reggie Savage and thats saying something !!! But there are loads of clubs around the Cove, Camberley, Sandhurst, Badshot Lea etc area ....LOL !

 

You have to ask yourself what you want to achieve, fins a club you feel comfortable with and if your not selected, don't chuck in the towell ! Do not be easily mislead by promises.

 

Wish you the best whatever you choose.

 

ps: Daddy JJ is looking for players at Chertsey...........LOL !

Believe me, i don't enjoy moving! I moved clubs this season because i moved house from Ash to Croydon. Then yeah your right, i kept getting rotated at Warlingham and didn't like it because i know i'm good enough to play in div1! However i wasn't always selected at Banstead but i didn't care as i like the manager and was happy to be part of the squad. I may stay there. Depends on who comes in i guess.

 

And money doesn't bother me in the slightest! I proved that by being one of the only players to hang on when we had all the money issues there.

AFC Croydon Athletic had a good response to their search for a Manager,18 replies, many have experience of Combined Counties and higher.Interviews are now taking place this week,suprised I have not been asked onto the Interview Panel.

I believe that the Leagues Committee meet this week to determine the proposed allocations. These will then be ratified by the full FA Council and then released to clubs and leagues. It is usually the third week of May at least before they are publicised.

 

I can now confirm that four clubs have applied to join the CCL next season, namely AFC Croydon Athletic, Dorking Wanderers, Epsom Athletic and Southall. We are losing Bookham. Others showed interest but did not pursue the matter or have not finished high enough in their present league.

 

I would mention that at the League meeting held to discuss the possible re-structure, the official representatives of Croydon FC made it very clear that they did not wish to return to the Kent League (and said so in a letter to the FA) and I am not aware that they have changed their mind. Consequently I am not sure that they would be that pleased if any other clubs or individuals were actively promoting their removal from the CCL.

 

As one or two have asked, I will offer a view upon the aborted re-structure in due course later this week.

 

Would be good to see Dorking Wanderers coming in. Early season visitors to the Westhumble ground would have a wonderful view of the olympic rings that are apparently being plonked on the side of Box Hill, Hollywood style :shocked:

Antony 'Ant' Williams takes the reigns at AFC Croydon Athletic,assisted by Andrew 'Taff' Martin in a coaching role.2 very likeable and able Managers.Wish them both the best of luck.
