I would mention that at the League meeting held to discuss the possible re-structure, the official representatives of Croydon FC made it very clear that they did not wish to return to the Kent League (and said so in a letter to the FA) and I am not aware that they have changed their mind. Consequently I am not sure that they would be that pleased if any other clubs or individuals were actively promoting their removal from the CCL.

I'm sure they'll get over it. The fact is what's right for Croydon FC; for any individual members of the Combined Counties League or for the League itself may not be best for the national game in the eyes of the FA. A 16 team Kent League is a problem which will need to be addressed for 2013-14 and there are various ways of addressing the problem, some of which are not going to be to the taste of some clubs or leagues.

Why don't u just worry about your own club, if Croydon wanted to go to the Kent league we would of applied.

I believe that the Leagues Committee meet this week to determine the proposed allocations. These will then be ratified by the full FA Council and then released to clubs and leagues. It is usually the third week of May at least before they are publicised.

I can now confirm that four clubs have applied to join the CCL next season, namely AFC Croydon Athletic, Dorking Wanderers, Epsom Athletic and Southall. We are losing Bookham. Others showed interest but did not pursue the matter or have not finished high enough in their present league.

As one or two have asked, I will offer a view upon the aborted re-structure in due course later this week.

Would be good to see Dorking Wanderers coming in. Early season visitors to the Westhumble ground would have a wonderful view of the olympic rings that are apparently being plonked on the side of Box Hill, Hollywood style

The Olympic rings appear to be floating above Box Hill in the depiction. Not very Hollywood. I think 'this is Surrey Today' should invite their graphics person into the office for a chat.

So what is your view on it?

The kent league has 16 teams because they have so many different cups which means if they increase league numbers they will have more fixtures to fill.

That may well be the case historically (although equally one could think they have cups to fill in the blank weekends from having a small league – I don't know the history) but no one can hide from the fact that they will have to have a minimum of 20 teams from 2013/14 and they're going to have to get four new sides from somewhere. Promoting teams en block from the Invicta League is OK as long as these clubs meet the promotion criteria and have a Category F ground grading.

The CCL have a completely different problem losing just two clubs this season (Guildford City and Bookham) and then potentially looking to accommodate Whyteleafe, AFC Croydon Athletic, Dorking Wanderers, Epsom Athletic and Southall. That's a net gain of three and it's just not going to work is it?

It was interesting listening to Ryman League President Alan Turvey on the radio last night. He was making out that the problem that exists is that there are too many Step 5 divisions. But that's not the problem: that's HIS solution to the real problem which is that there is no free movement from the bottom of his Step 4 divisions and the top of Step 5 feeders. To be fair the new solution presents new problems at Step 3 and 4 with 24 club divisions and the spectre of fixture congestion for those clubs. It'll devalue the Ryman League Cup competition even further.

Why not? 'leafe to replace Guildford, three up and three down (22 in Prem) and div 1 gets four new teams while losing one (making 20 in div 1)!

Simples!

But if Whytelefe go to Kent,Chessington dont get relegated,Bookham are leaving,4 Clubs coming in,makes 20 Teams,if I am not mistaken. So no need to go shopping with her indoors.Whyteleafe could be classed as heroes?Saviours even?

We've already got a huge c0ck on the Deepdene roundabout, and a certain LibDem Councillor is raising money for a metalic sculpture of cyclists to be erected on the Denbies roundabout, (you can't use the word 'erected' and 'c0ck' in the same sentence as far as the Deepdene roundabout is concerned.)

Now we are being threatened with olympic rings on Box Hill !

Who said this is the season of austerity ?

Don't get me started, Trevor !!!!

Scotty,it is my belief that they will be in C.C.L.1 next year. Will they have a Budget to get them back to Step 4,as quick as possible,in my opinion No.The people behind the Club are passionate Football People, who realise that playing at Step 6 is better than NO CLUB to support at all.Personally think that this could be a great opportunity for a young Manager to make his mark, with new ideas.Croydon has a wealth of untapped talent player wise that needs to be used to its full.
