Smudge,

There's a guy called Gundeep available in West London who is looking for a player/coaching role at a club.

He's 22 and has played for Wesley Park, Indian Gymkhana and Marsh Rangers. Has also trained with Dennis Booth (ex Fulham Coach, and now at Roehampton Academy). Plays as a full back (either side) as well as a holding midfielder - also he is ambidextrous.

If AFC Croydon would be interested, tell them to email anand.gundeep@gmail.com or ring 07529742451.

Yes. They are a completely new start up club joining the CCL Div 1.

They are indeed going into C.C.L.as a new entity. They have a New Chairman and Vice Chairman who have worked extremely hard to get the New Club up and running. They have had to start completely from scratch, not helped by the previous owners, not relinquishing the lease back to the Council, even though they owe money on it.They also cleared out everything from the ground that was not nailed down, even down to the tea spoons. The new Club, could be a great place, for an ambitious Manager to cut his teeth,as I feel that any recognised Manager would not relish the challenge.

how did they get put straight into the league, and not have to go through a Step 6 league instead?

The same with what happened to Windsor & Eton with their new club Windsor, they dropped 2 divisions which would be the same as Croydon Athletic Ryman South Div. 1 to AFC Croydon CCL Div. 1

Be interested if AFC Croydon are going to throw money at their club like Windsor did to get players and be a force within their respective division ?

Like Windsor they were dropped 2 Leagues,I believe. But unlike Windsor they will not have the Finances,or ex Management in charge.

I am very grateful to you, Smudge, for posting the topic and your earlier kind words.

We have indeed applied to join Combined Counties Division One and await a final decision; it was not my intention to be so presumptuous to post on this forum until we are accepted into the league but I did want to convey our thanks for the topic.

do we know what date the constitution will be created for the CCL?

I am of the understanding that the FA will instruct the various leagues whos moving where next week, so each league constitutions are made known to all and sundry by then.

Perhaps Whitelaw can confirm this ?

Hells bells. I actually agree with NG on this. The FA decide which league AFCCA will go into - as they did with Windsor. I am off for a lie down lol

There's is one application which has already been discussed at length both with the FA and the Combined Counties League. May come as a bombshell if they get put in the Kent Invicta.

I believe that the Leagues Committee meet this week to determine the proposed allocations. These will then be ratified by the full FA Council and then released to clubs and leagues. It is usually the third week of May at least before they are publicised.

I can now confirm that four clubs have applied to join the CCL next season, namely AFC Croydon Athletic, Dorking Wanderers, Epsom Athletic and Southall. We are losing Bookham. Others showed interest but did not pursue the matter or have not finished high enough in their present league.

I would mention that at the League meeting held to discuss the possible re-structure, the official representatives of Croydon FC made it very clear that they did not wish to return to the Kent League (and said so in a letter to the FA) and I am not aware that they have changed their mind. Consequently I am not sure that they would be that pleased if any other clubs or individuals were actively promoting their removal from the CCL.

As one or two have asked, I will offer a view upon the aborted re-structure in due course later this week.

I'm sure they'll get over it. The fact is what's right for Croydon FC; for any individual members of the Combined Counties League or for the League itself may not be best for the national game in the eyes of the FA. A 16 team Kent League is a problem which will need to be addressed for 2013-14 and there are various ways of addressing the problem, some of which are not going to be to the taste of some clubs or leagues.
