The point about Graham Roope, as far as Slough are concerned, is that, owing to an injury to Trevor Porter, he was thrust into the second replay of a testing FA Trophy tie with Minehead at Twerton Park, Bath, without having ever played for Slough before. His immaculate handling, Dave Russell's wonder goal and some of the passing football ever played by a Slough Town team all contributed to a memorable victory over the eventual Southern League runners-up. One that was made even more enjoyable by some excellent local fish and chips. He may have made only one appearance for us, but what an appearance it was!
