Slough Observer Poll

Recommended Posts

Has anyone seen the "After Slough Town's third successive play off failure is Steve Bateman the right man to lead the club into their proposed new stadium?" poll on the Slough Observer website?

Can't remember a poll like this before about a Slough Manager, the opinion percentages a pretty evenly split at the moment! I think he should stay for one more season at least to see if he can get us up and find this poll a bit out of order!

Well, given some of the things you and I said on here in the aftermath of the game last week, I personally think it would be rather hypocritical of us to criticise it!

Both of us soon calmed down and apologised/went back on our comments Nathan, it was heat of the moment!

The observer must read this forum to come up with that!

Best way to deal with it is vote "YES", and recognise what we've achieved under SB whilst being homeless and not having the resources of the likes of St. Newts, Arlesley, Bury Town, Hitchin who've all won promotion in our stead.

It's out of order running such a poll IMO.

Very out of order. We need to stick with Bateman because he has taken this club out of a massive slump and produced amazing results over the last 3 years.

Currently around 39% yes, 35% no, 25% not sure.

I quickly read that this morning but didnt realise there was a poll, totally out of order and I think Matt is right dont vote.

Also read (again very quickly) that Byron thought that it was down to the ref that they lost in the final, funny old game football especially when things dont go they way you think it should.

He also says he will probably lose about 5 players next season as they will want to play football higher up the pyramid, this coming from a man who leaves Tyrone sitting on the bench most of the season!! (not that I am bias of course)

Your right and it is very disrespectful to your manager, how does he feel reading all that crap.

Maybe some of you might now understand why our chairman directs any negativity towards himself and motivates our supporters and forum users to be positive all the time.

Most negativity is a knee jerk reaction at the time, and most regret saying it.

Would not be a surprise if your manager says that's enough, I don't need that sort of thing.

The club should now refuse to give any interviews to that news paper, I know what our chairman would do that's for sure.

Kay Its been withdrawn from the home page Dont know if they intend to publish a result but I doubt it This type of poll is meaningless since its so easy to rig you only need one or two people with access to multiple computers (workplace etc.) and you can produce the result you want

Great fighting talk from SB in the locals.

He's ready to come back to win the title next season with the necessary changes in personel.

With the new ground etc we have some exciting times ahead so lets all get behind Steve Bateman and go all out to win the damn thing next season!

COYR!!

Gutter journalism at it's finest. Obviously not much going on at Reading FC this week for them to write about. Not sure why the club felt the need to retweet it or whatever....Ironically, you can read an excellent interview with Steve on the Maidenhead Advertiser site today.

And hopefully the keyboard warriors will start behaving as supporters and not detractors.

(although I am not holding my breath).

Ironically, the Slough Express have the better interviews and scoops about Slough Town than the Observer currently do.So perhaps there's some sour grapes on the Observer's part, with this daft poll.

However,I'm still of the opinion,Windsor Rebel, that you are a supporter when you pay your entrance fee at the Slough[sycob] turnstiles to watch Slough Town FC.

This forum should be about open, honest opinions, regardless of whether it's for or against the popular view.So if you want to praise or detract, you should be entitled to.

Nothing ever changes/improves, if you only get one side..

This forum has been controversial at times but still proves to be popular and seems to be read by players and the manager. So what better way to have reasoned debate and to get a broad view of supporters feelings.'Keyboard Warriors' or not.
