England to win the Euros.

Recommended Posts

Is that a strawberry or a raspberry one?

It'll be great if they do win, but let's not expect them to. The media will go into overkill about how 'England Expects' if they win two out of their three group games, and from then on failure will equal a public crucifixion in the Red Tops.

Let's just enjoy the tournament - I'm looking forward to it more than the Olympics!

No I have not gone mad,but I honestly believe that we have a great chance this year. When England won the World Cup in 66 few gave us a chance, when the best striker around Jimmy Greaves was left out of proceedings.I see similarities this year also,Rooney suspended for the first 2 games, does he take Terry and Ferdinand,or leave one behind.Which ever way he goes Roy Hodgson will be slated by the Press.Like Alf Ramsey was in 66.So would urge you Members to get on England for a few Pounds, and when they win, invest in a Gold Membership, out of your Winnings.

:D

England will do what they always do and scrape frew the group round and go out in the 2nd round the England players are overpaid and overratted and always disappoint and dont get me started on Rooney and Terry because they are a embarrasment with there cheating ways and the rest  . England will do sod all at the Euros. I havent botherd watching a single England game since the last world cup. ;)

Come on guys get real the last time England did anythink major in the last 20 years was beating Germany 5 1 away and Euro 1996.

England are a average team simple :countingsheep:

Same old England get through the group stages and then go out in the next round.

Best laugh that I have had in ages. The likes of Germany, France, Spain, Holland and Portugal must be quaking in their boots. The 2012 squad will still contain the nucleus of the 2010 squad and we all know how well that went. England will do well to qualify for the knock out stages and then lose in the quarters.

England were unlucky, but at least they played as a proper team this time.

For those knocking England, I'd love to see you do better than Roy's boys.

Those who can't, criticise... ^_^

I don't think anyone is questioning the effort which in the past has been lacking. The sad fact is that we are miles away from the best sides in the world and it will take time for this to change. Question is, do the FA have the balls to actually do something about it and will the media give the FA time?

I have to say Adam, every time Milner played the comment was 'well he has worked really hard'!!! Put me in an England shirt and I will work hard too, like millions of others. For me that's not good enough, he lacked quality in possession, created little for a winger and kept giving the ball away which in turn stopped us from being able to maintain attacks and full backs supporting were out of position, this is one example of us not being good enough to compete at this level, I could go on, glimpses of good play and some reasonable defending will not compare to the quality the other teams possess. The best four teams are left, fact.

We have little else coming through either so don't expect any different in the World Cup, if we make it.

I love my country and it's national football team but after many tournaments with the same outcome means I have learnt to be realistic. We simply are not good enough, well done for trying though. Would be interesting to see the difference in wages from the English players compared to other national teams players, for their respective clubs obviously.

Bit harsh Y.V.we have Jordan Henderson in the wings, did he touch a ball last night?John Terry was awesome all the way through the Tournament, hardly got a mention in the Tabloids,I WONDER WHY.Young,Rooney,Milner, were very poor for differing reasons.

Looking back on the 4 games, my take is as follows:

Hart - Solid and has an opportunity to become a legend. Best keeper since the Shilton/Clemence era

Cole - Not as good as he can be but was solid

Terry - improved with every game. Our best player last night

Lescott - solid and scored. Did not look out of place

Johnson - Probably our most consistent performer. Great covering and good going forward

Young and Milner - Very disappointing and created very little

Gerrard - his best tournament in an England shirt

Parker - great for 60 miutes but stamina was an issue

Walbeck - will only benefit from the experience. Amazing finish for the winner v Seden

Rooney - Not world class on his two performances. Spectacularly ordinary

Carroll - Total commitment and effort. Sadly his enthusiasm did not rub off on his team mates. Brilliant header against Sweden

Oxlade-Chamberlain - One for the future with bags of talent

Walcott - ALways looked threatening when he got the ball. Shame he didnt see it last night. But was he fully fit?

Henderson - Little chance to impress in his best position

Says something when our defenders were our best players. Total lack of flair apart from isolated flashes. How different might it have been had Milner scored against France when he got round the keeper?

Heard this in my local yesterday lunch-time.

England out this weekend.

Andy Murry out next weekend.

BUT...... We are pretty sure of a gold at the Olympics in the 'Drive-By Shooting' event !
