England to win the Euros.

Recommended Posts

No I have not gone mad,but I honestly believe that we have a great chance this year. When England won the World Cup in 66 few gave us a chance, when the best striker around Jimmy Greaves was left out of proceedings.I see similarities this year also,Rooney suspended for the first 2 games, does he take Terry and Ferdinand,or leave one behind.Which ever way he goes Roy Hodgson will be slated by the Press.Like Alf Ramsey was in 66.So would urge you Members to get on England for a few Pounds, and when they win, invest in a Gold Membership, out of your Winnings.

Best laugh that I have had in ages. The likes of Germany, France, Spain, Holland and Portugal must be quaking in their boots. The 2012 squad will still contain the nucleus of the 2010 squad and we all know how well that went. England will do well to qualify for the knock out stages and then lose in the quarters.

Is Terry good enough to still play for England?

I heard a rumour that following his performance v Liverpool yesterday, Bayern Munich are to appeal against his suspension for the Champions League final. :D

It might upset the purists out there, but I read a suggestion about putting Crouch and Carroll up front and scaring the cr*p out of the opposition. Let's face it, we aren't going to compete in a traditional way as we could get out-footballed by most teams there, not just Spain, who we would face in the qf's if we qualify as runners-up.

Of course Woy won't do that, but at least it would be interesting for a while. Smudge, if you really feel that way, I'd get down the bookies as you'll probably get better odds than there have ever been on an England tournament win.

England will do what they always do and scrape frew the group round and go out in the 2nd round the England players are overpaid and overratted and always disappoint and dont get me started on Rooney and Terry because they are a embarrasment with there cheating ways and the rest  . England will do sod all at the Euros. I havent botherd watching a single England game since the last world cup. ;)

I think England will do well to get out of their Group!

Andy Caroll is the man in form so should go to the Euros.

The only way that England can do well is to come up with a strategy and philosophy similar to that employed by the Greeks when they won the Euros. I would love to see England try and play a more traditional style - ie up and at em! We are not good enough technically to compete with the likes of Spain and Germany. If, as stated above, we played Crouch and Carroll up front, that could be fun!

It is not impossible to beat the likes of Spain and Germany. Chelsea showed in the Champions League that the best sides can be beaten if the formula, tactics and strategy are right. This needs to be combined with discipline and application. Has Hodgson got the time to get this right? I think not.

We have already beaten Spain not long ago so that proves its possible for us to beat the best. The key thing on winning any big tournament is luck and we never have any ! so we are due a BIG change in luck !.

So if we get the tactics right and lady luck smiles upon us we have as good a chance as any.

We need to start the tournament well like the Germans did in the last world cup ( their young side wasn't fancied and for me they were the best team in the competition because they got confident quickly.

With Spain, Holland Germany and an emerging France to name but 4 we just aren`t in the same league technically. Take these 4 on in and we will get murdered and have to agree with WindsorFC that our only hope is to play like we did against Spain and win games 1-0 and on penalties....winning on penalties?........i know i need to stop dreaming!!

Kroons - Green instead of Foster?.....You cannot be serious!

Well I'm tempted to side with Smudge on this one, not sure why but think The FA may have got it right with Hodgson as manager and we might surprise everybody...more likely though will be us getting to the semis and be unlucky, for the country to get behind us again and then fail to qualify for the World Cup!!
