Any Summer Events?

Recommended Posts

Any plans for events in the Clubhouse during The Summer.

Champions League Final, The Euro's, DARTS?

Any news on a Pool Table or has this been shelved?

Now we are going up to the Connie fundraising will be on our mind.

It has been a while since our last quiz night to be honest,it's something which has taken a back seat for no other reason than our play off push

I think the champions league final being on a Saturday may mean this option is not available to us,depends on If the clubhouse is booked or not.

We will update on any news Thursday night/Friday

Thinking about it could tie it in with an England game at the Euros provided it fell on a Saturday and the clubhouse was available. Then after the game have the bbq and the band. Price wise would be around £250. There are only 3 of us so this could be negotiated dependent on how long you wanted us to play. I will create a new post later today but the band are playing at The Yeoman on Friday 18th May so would be great to get a few down there and then you can hear if we would be suitable which I'm sure we would be

i've mentioned about having a live band at the club for the past couple of seasons and no one said anything about it.

So yeah, its a good idea!!

Talking of bands there was live bands down at Leigh on Sea over Easter i took the names of them down.

See what you think and these....

We have looked at the idea before but the problem is,the outlay.Bands don't come cheap and our events are not always that well supported.

The cost of a band and BBQ could cost over £400,that's a big outlay when the events aren't always well supported

I think it's all about advertising and maybe an incentive with summer events. Not sure what, maybe money off or something for nothing. Maybe get ticket for BBQ and band and get ticket price off first home game. Maybe.

Just an idea, not sure if it will work and not thought much Into it. But. How about a play at honchurch game? Like the fans pay £5/£10 each to be in the squad maybe we could have one of the coaching staff or players or maybe even Colin coaching the fans side and playing against a Hornchurch team maybe a mix of first reserve and u18 team.

Also could offer it to pubs and Sunday teams using the games as friendlys for reserve or u18 team.

Will bring a bit of money into club as well as advertising the club. Maybe some of the people who play will come during the season.

Another idea, tell me to shut up if you get bored, how about a darts league. I'd live to play every week and normally only play when we play dagenham. We could all put a tenner in five half to the club then do a weekly league then a play off system an the winner wins the other half. We will all put money over the bar and will bring a little bit extra In during the close season.

Another idea, I'm not sure if you could. Use the clubhouse as a venue. Advertise it to people to host there parties in and other events. They pay a fee to rent out or Afc take a cut of the bar takings or all of them. Something else u could utilise during the off season.

The bar as a venue is already rented out,Its actually quite a popular venue and busy a lot of the time.

The football match is one we have had before, ironically the last time was in the Connie south year,a problem for us though is the pitch as it needs extensive work in the summer and isn't always available.

As for darts,it's a difficult one entering a league

We would need a board on the wall and the club aren't too keen on this

What about a match for the vets? Don't mean the pdsa either. Have to make the pitch smaller
