Big pat on the back for all the people who got together at the beginning and decided to create a new club, at times like this it all becomes so justifiable. People will not need to be told who they are, they will be bursting with pride within themselves. I had a tear in my eye when i eventually heard the news. At last the club is starting to appeal to the hoards that followed the old club. My only hope is that the people running the club can find a way of hooking any future support on the back of this success.

The Main Board have created a number of sub-committees to do just that, so there are a lot more people working towards the next goal and certainly looking to increase and maintain support.

Come on you Towners.

Congratulations to one and all. Great to see the club continue on to bigger things, long may it continue. Hats off to all the backroom folk for their hardwork, love for the club, building something bigger and better. From the highlights (thanks Cold End), the players looked to easily have the measure of Needham Market (with respect). Looking forward to next season and who knows I might just make it to a game...

I can recommend a visit to the Man from Oz. I have made many from there. The first time I saw ETFC play was three or four days after 9/11 (we were actually in the air on our way when 9/11 happened). Our holiday tour was postponed because of this, so I travelled down to Barkingside to see the new side win 4-1. I had my photo taken with Jim Chandler at pitch side.

I have been to see the club at Brimsdown on a number of visits back home, including the very last game there at the end of last season.

I have also been to the QEII a number of times since October and it has always been well worth it. For someone who first saw the old Enfield play in the mid 1950s (I seem to recall the first match I saw was an away FA Cup match at Aylesbury - the statisticians can look that one up) what has happened with ETFC is just brilliant. From a standing start to get where the club is today is nothing short of sensational and I am talking about the entire club - Reserves, U18s and Ladies are all included as is the new ground and the Football in the Community scheme. This is a model community club.

From the Enfield Man who lives in Oz but resides currently in London
