I am sure the old Enfield played Margate in the 60's in a cup competition. But may not have played Hastings.

The old Enfield played a Hastings team (don't think it was the same one) in 1981 in the FA Cup, winning 2-0 at Southbury Road. Hastings' keeper that day, Gerry Armstrong, later became the country's leading tennis umpire!

I;m sure EFC made at least one trip to Hastings. I remember there were two clubs there, essentially back-to-back. Sorry that I can't recall circumstances and/or dates. Perhaps Jim could oblige?

Oh yes - St Leonards in late 1990s - won 4-2 in Trophy. That ground's gone now, but the adjacent Pilot Field, Hastings' ground, is still there.

Remember that game very well, they had a defender that was huge, like 7ft, but kickedthe ball like he was Bambi.

Nice ground too, from one end you could actually see the Entire Hastings pitch.
