Royston Town FC - Require New Reserve Team Manager

Recommended Posts

Our reserves have applied for South Midlands Division One as St Albans City Reserves have withdrawn and are going to the capital league. If not we have been accepted into the Surburban League

Suburban or Capital would be better they were always a good standard higher step teams ressies and always looked to play good football

Geographically SSML Div 1 make more sense than Suburban, where, apart from Barton Rovers, the next nearest games would be Levy Green & Berko. SSML means a lot more league games - last year Suburban North was 24 but 42 in SSML D1

Sorry if I'm being a bit thick but could you clarify the above. I read it as you want to run in SSML 1 and Capital or Suburban and Capital. Worse case Suburban only?

No I am well thick I read it as reserve div. SSML div 1 would be ideal and as Tring army said makes much more sense

Royston Town Reserves in SSML Div 1 (Step 6) is what they want.

If that cannot be the case then, Suburban (Already accepted) or Capital.

I'm sure the league would be pleased to have Royston represented in the league, makes it an attractive management opportunity too

To the cleaverist and the THICKEST we have applied to enter South Midlands Division One BECAUSE ST Albans City ARE MOVING to the Capital League so freeing a place in that division next season. If that does not get fruitition then we have a move to the SURBURBAN LEAGUE as another option :-)

Our current reserve team manager has done a superb job and will continue involved in the set up. Our club has moved forward much in the last 4 years and it is important to get the gap in football class at first and reserve team at closer levels.

Someone with good coaching credentials and a keen willingness to try and develop our talented youngsters through our club set up would be sought for the position. It is most definately a hands on position in both terms of coaching and management

Thanks Watchful! Suburban League is certainly a higher standard than Spartan Reserves and when I managed in there for a bit last season it was roughly step 6 and 5 players so will be a good test for the lads. All the best Rob

It would suit Steve Foster wouldn't it particularly as he worked hand in hand with Paul Attfield at Buntingford Town a few years back

Blimey, it didn't take you long to drag that one up Clifford. Sorry but as it stands, I'm happily in retirement with my golf clubs at the moment. Also been able to sneak in a couple winter sun holidays during the season. Good club & a good opportunity for an up & coming coach.

Steve - I thought you would jump at the chance to work hand in hand with the great Paul Attfield again

The Watchfull Listener – What about Clement Temile, he fits that criteria to a tee and I’m sure he wouldn’t mind doing your Reserves until such time as Paul Attfield is inevitably head hunted by a bigger Club or moves upstairs at Garden Walk, then he could perhaps step into Paul's shoes. If you like I can arrange an interview in the next week or so.
