Of all the teams to finish 2nd or 3rd in their Evostic leagues (central, S&W,or premiership) Slough had the biggest margin over the teams beneth them and are the only team not to win through to the finals.

 

Looks like the rest had some momentum, we just fizzled out.

That's why I was so upset on this forum over the last 2 days. It wasn't just the fact that we lost, it was mainly the fact that it was an extremely disappointing end to a season which until a few short weeks ago, promised so much.

 

I understand that some of my posts over the last 2 days have been a little forceful, and (like other people have said about their own posts) this was indeed heat of the moment stuff. But that's not to say that the underlying points were invalid - I simply believe that we need something extra than what we've shown in order to be promoted.

 

To this end, I am of course ready to offer my full support to whoever is in charge (be it Steve Bateman or anyone else) in order to serve the best interests of the club. But this is not to say that I won't criticise things that I feel could do with change or improvement.

 

After all, we all simply want what it best for the club, don't we?
