League cup final

Recommended Posts

Guernsey were poor and if they want to win the league next season, they had better play better than that. Colliers Wood did very well and worked their socks off. Mario Embalo was their best player although Jim was also excellent until all that running caught up with him.

Charged £10 to get in which is in my opinion expensive!

Night all, long trip to Barton Rovers tomorrow to finally get this last league game completed after being postponed 3 times already!

Very expensive considering admission was £8 - you sure that wasn't what you spent on burgers? ;)

Not a great game, but well done to Guernsey. Great following for a Friday night from them. If CWU had taken one of their late chances in normal time, could have been a different result. Ref somehow played 57 minutes in the second half, despite indicating an additional 5 to be played.

Good performance from FFXI's Wingman!

2-0 Guernsey Heaume pen.Seems Mr. Connolly showed common sense in only giving Burnett a yellow.A game played in a good spirit,WELL DONE TO BOTH SIDES.WELL DONE GUERNSEY ON DOING THE DOUBLE.ATTENDANCE 667

Not common sense but correct application of law, player had quite clearly moved the ball significantly away from goal to avoid the oncoming goalkeeper, and therefore did not have a 'clear' goalscoring opportunity. Had he cut in and moved the ball towards the goal would have been a much clearer opportunity and the colour of the card would have been different.

Well done to the Referee last night excellent game may i point out to all the moaners regarding the amount of time played by the referee he was correct in the amount of time he played. Well done Jason.

I also thought the ref had a good game last night and the booking for the keeper from where I was sitting was the right decision. I think the task was made easier for the ref by the spirit in which the game was played, well done everyone involved.

Okay, well its clear that many CCL forumites, managers and the like were in attendance last night.

OPINIONS !

So whats each individual thought whilst realising that this was a ''one off'' Cup Final along with Ross Allen not playing.

Without being disrespectful to either club/team, Colliers Wood just avoids relegation from the CCL Premier to CCL Div. 1 whereas Guernsey on the other hand are promoted from CCL Div. 1 to the CCL Premier. Now whilst we shouldn't gauge both teams on 1 performance especially a Cup Final, last night was a good time to have a look at Guernsey as an unknown quantity as such to the CCL Prem, albeit having played against a few CCL Prem clubs in the Cup and a pre-season friendly.

So what is your honest opinion on how you think Guernsey will do next season in the CCL Prem, when you consider from the evidence shown, that they would have drawn with Egham, Guildford and Colliers Wood had their Cup games been league games ?

Clearly, they are fit as all 3 CCL Prem casualties were defeated in extra time, having that drive and will to go on to win the game.

............Interesting !

The Judo man is wide of the mark as Guernsey were hardly poor and it's an insult to Colliers Wood who stuck at it for over 2 hours and looked a threat on the break. Guernsey tried the Wenger pass the ball into the net routine, never easy with 10+ bodies in the box.

Next season will be hard for GFC no doubt, and midweek UK fixtures will be tough BUT don't forget this club is run very professionally and they have thought it through and will be ready.

I'm still confused over why I had to shell out a tenner when it was advertised as 8 quid. Still we're all stinking rich over here allegedly.....

This is a great forum and really looking forward to next season already.

So you were charged £10 as well? It was definitely £8 and that's what I paid. Very concerning that people were having to pay £10, although surprised nobody queried this when paying?

Nearly 13 minutes seemed excessive to me. BIzarrely, we were already in the 50th minute when the 4th official put up the board to say 5 minutes to be played. Maybe he meant 5 minutes over the 50? :)

Seems to me TRS that either the gateperson was putting the extra £2.00 in his pocket or it went to Farnborough's flush fund...... ;)
