LITTLE OLD SYCOB, STILL SURPRISING PEOPLE !

Recommended Posts

Am loving the Beacosnfield fan making it out to make people believe that Beaconsfield added some spark and some entertainment that Slough never could!

Beaconsfield, like Slough, did next to nothing all game (normal time plus extra-time). the difference was that what they did do was more than enough to beat us, as we showed Sweet FA from start to finish. That's what was most galling of all.

At least OLDER RAM is correct when he says this:

You should stop dwelling on the past, you are Slough for christs sake and your not as good as you think you are, you are homeless and playing at level 4. You have vast resouces compared to other teams, a far bigger fan base, yet your overpaid management and playing staff still under perform, YOU DESERVE A LOT BETTER, AND ARE BEING LET DOWN !

We deserved to win last night, we had hunger and desire and our players were better, three things your team lacked !

We will probably play you again at this level next season, as we are not really a team that can be sustainable at the next level, but you are, and that is why you should not keep putting up with defeats like the one you suffered last night, when your under achievers were beat by a "PUB TEAM" who were better than you tactically and ability wise.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Little Old SYCOB go and beat Bedworth. If they can manage another 120 minutes of attritional football and manage to have a bit of luck and take the 1 or 2 chances that come their way then promotion will be theirs.

Well done to Byron Walton and his staff, you got it right against us on that poor pitch, hopefully you can rise to the occasion one more time. A special mention to Charlie Mpi, who ran himself into the ground and was a constant menace to our attacking endeavours.

As for us unfortunately we lost some players at the wrong time of the season and we weren't really physically strong enough throughout to overcome the sort of tactics employed by the likes of North Greenford, AFC Hayes, Aylesbury, BSYCOB and to a lesser degree the likes of Chalfont, which eventually robbed us of the title. I agree with previous posts, we wouldn't have overcome Bedworth either so we have to re-group and plan for next season when a promoted BSYCOB won't even have the injection of a local derby against us - shame.

It's a shame OLDER RAM has chosen to come on our forum and gloat. We're proud of allowing others to post here, our friends at St. Neots have done so a lot without resorting to that.

Of course I'm gutted, but I'd never go on anyone elses forum like that. What goes around comes around so enjoy the success while it lasts.

Poor pitch and attritional football ? I have a great deal of respect for Slough, Steve and Fred but they we you play the pitch is irrelevant and in all 3 games you were route one ! We were the better side on the night and that's why we won !

I assume you meant "the way we play"? Given that we are quite happy playing football on even a semi-decent surface the fact that you suggest we've played more direct in the 3 games against SYCOB just reinforces the fact that it's out of necessity from playing on a cabbage patch.

Can someone explain to me how this "terrible cabbage patch pitch" produced the best home record in our league? No-one scored more home points than us. not St Neots not Bedworth, no-one There is no credibility in trying to blame appalling displays on the pitch imo.

You can blame the pitch all you like, its an equal playing field for both teams once they cross the line, how they adapt is down to the management. As the previous poster explained you had the best home record in the league, so you must of had to adapt your expansive style to suite the inferior surface. I know a lot of Slough fans believe you play like the Barcelona of non-league, but your home record on the "cabbage patch" where you say you cant play football is proof you do play direct football. I just wish you could give little old "SYCOB" some credit for not losing their bottle and having the desire and drive to come back from behind and win when it mattered, you never hear "SYCOB" complain about the pitch !

We have played more direct this season than previously, yes sycob were the better team! Yes we had a great record on the pitch! The pitch isnt great but it is seriously over used! My lot have a cup final there this week and I'm sure others have been played there plus sycob plus u18s plus ladies not surprised the pitch is poor! Older ram I hope your lot do you proud on Monday! Bedworth are an intimidating bunch players and fans and I for one will be very impressed if you do them! However, stop crowing on about the semi Id like to think if the result had been reversed we'd have been more gracious in victory!
