SLOUGH 1 - BEACONSFIELD 2

 

Dare I say it, our trip is not over yet.

but how far we have come, and WE BELIEVE !

 

Unlucky last night Slough, but "THE RAMS" totally deserved to win last night against an overpayed and lack lustre Slough team who showed nothing. Beaconsfield played to their strengths, and came back from behind with every player doing their job, and matching the Slough team man for man. Slough seemed to run out of ideas against a very strong and resolute Beaconsfield team especially the defence, where one or two of them could easy play in the Slough team. Beaconsfield far and away deserved to win, and had more pace and will to win in their team than Slough's under achievers who think they are big time charlies, and a team with Slough's resources have got to look at their management and playing staffs mentality, three play-off defeats in a row !

Slough have had the nucleus of their team for three years, and last night they lost to a team that has been thrown together on a shoestring budget this season, half the team didn't even do a pre season, yet they have been in the top five for most of the season. A terrific effort this season, but Beaconsfields success cant all be put down to the management, where as Slough's under achieving can definately be put down to the management and players, SLOUGH REALLY AREN'T AS GOOD AS THEY THINK THEY ARE ! And last night against "LITTLE OLE SYCOB" it just weren't good enough !

Whether we get a result up at Bedworth on Monday is not that important, as going up would not be sustainable for a club with no fan base, but win or lose "THE RAMS" have had a great season, better than the under achievers who think they are better than they are !

Well done to SYCOB on their success. It is just a shame that you are unable to exhibit the level of class shown by a great number of our supporters last night in clapping the Beaconsfield players and coaching staff from the field.

As I said before regarding Slough's departure from Holloways Park {as going up would not be sustainable for a club with no fan base{ we recognise Slough's contribution to our success.

 

Rather than worry about our problems at Beaconsfield, I think you should concentrate on your own problems, firstly by remedying your own management and playing staffs losing mind set !

A fair enought point,Older Ram.Some truth in your statement,which many of us don't like to accept.We lost the momentum of winning games at the wrong time in the season,as it turn's out and obviously,didn't do ourselves justice last night but if we didn't have play-offs,we finished 2nd and Beaconsfield over-achieved in 5th.Will the 2nd season syndrome kick in for Sycob next year?

 

OK you've won the big one,the play off but in the two league games SYCOB fell well short of Slough in your home match and only drew with us in our home match.So I wouldn't crow too much.Enjoy the win,Older Ram.

You should stop dwelling on the past, you are Slough for christs sake and your not as good as you think you are, you are homeless and playing at level 4. You have vast resouces compared to other teams, a far bigger fan base, yet your overpaid management and playing staff still under perform, YOU DESERVE A LOT BETTER, AND ARE BEING LET DOWN !

We deserved to win last night, we had hunger and desire and our players were better, three things your team lacked !

We will probably play you again at this level next season, as we are not really a team that can be sustainable at the next level, but you are, and that is why you should not keep putting up with defeats like the one you suffered last night, when your under achievers were beat by a "PUB TEAM" who were better than you tactically and ability wise.
