New force in division 1 next season

Recommended Posts

why will they be a force feltham are an average side an have been for a few seasons ever since frank brown left i dont see that improving just because of a merger the players from bedfont wont stay money talks at the level they are at so reckon therell be long gone possibly already an haylock well i think hes a jumped up knob anyway so couldnt care less where he went

I don't know Garry on a personal level as well as you Newby but as far as a football level is concerned I've not met anybody as knowledgeable in coaching, and testament to his ability is the squad playing for him for £0 since January, with just 2 players leaving for money elsewhere. He's done a great job.

i came across him when we beat his hayes an yeading reserve side in the premier cup he came on as a sub an was a complete tool disrespectful the whole time on an didnt shake hands with anyone just a big time charlie

i do wish bedfont town all the best watched em at start of season looked very good then obviously hit problems

He won't be the first or the last person to act a 'tool' on a football pitch mate ;) something about pulling that shirt on that seems to transform people...

Not to sure if the former chaiman is to blame for any demise that Bedfont Town have been through, he simply listens to what a manger want, trust him and then supplies him with the funds to progress. I must admit, from what was being said when Dennis Bainborough was in charge and especially when Mark Cooper came in there was some healthy budgets in place. Looking at results when Dennis was in charge I'm sure if he did not need to go abroad then Bedfont Town would have been up amungst the best but, dear oh dear,,, what happened when Mr Cooper came in must have shocked a few and hurt a few pockets.

I

Guarantee it wouldn't be his pocket tho' Knobby ....... :o !

always found the feltham commitee very good guys. cant see them getting rid of the manager. was bedfont town, only about mr whites money. seems strange he leaves and a club of many years standing has collapsed.

When will clubs learn, when a sugar daddy comes along, normally there's only really one outcome, and that ends in tears. So many clubs have fallen by the wayside when the sugar daddy decides to leave....unless you are Sheikh Mansour ;) !!! But what would happen to Man City if he decides to bail out ?

What do you mean when a sugar daddy comes along?

Doug has been at bedfont for years

When I played for them doug managed and played for the 3rd side because he loves football and has put lot into the club with probably no return

ANT my post was not aimed at Doug directly, it was a general comment which runs true when you get a sugar daddy on board, everything is bliss for a few years 'simply 'cos of his/her money BUT when that person decides thats enough and leaves, clubs struggle albeit possibly improving the club whilst there. But surely there must be a lesson learnt not just to rely on one person, 'cos there are so many examples in both the non-league and professional leagues especially in recent times,

Look what happened to Chertsey with Day's money. He did the club up, got them into the Southern League albeit by default lets not forget, but since they have struggled. JJ has done a good job to keep them in the league. I understand tho' that Day is supporting Chertsey with monatary funds which of course helps.

Clubs should not rely on one persons money, 'cos that person will up bags and just leave the honest folk who have the club at heart to pick up the sh*t that follows.

thanks for that clarification. So what does that mean for Bedfont Town ?

I honestly don't know Kroons, I have one foot out the retirement door at the moment so not in the know about the going ons at BTFC.

Get like me, GP, and get the other foot in the bar !

does your foot ever come out of the bar John???

Only when he sticks it in his mouth

Ho-Ho, Kroons !

At my age, its compulsory to baby-sit the bar. Don't have to keep fit anymore, and besides - It's part of my duties as a non-payed, willing volunteer of the Meadowbank staff !

The Asahi is being checked by bar-staff as I type, so the rain bl00dy well better stay away for tonight !

Hi public statement is below:

Announcing my retirement as Chairman on Wednesday after the Hampton Cup game was the hardest decision I have had to make in my life. I have had a wonderful 30 years playing, managing, promoting, supporting and sponsoring local football. My memories are far too many to list. The friendships I have made from football have been life long and my family have made many sacrifices for the cause. I hope it is recognised, that the Club, through its history as Bedfont Green and its humble beginnings, is in an enviable position as it sits on a platform of football potential which I hope others will come forward and crystallise.

From a mascot aged 7 I first played at the club from the age of 14 and still played 36 years later somehow. I still cant believe that it is only 8 years ago where we were kicking off at a local recreation ground and are now top of the form table in the Southern league . I cant imagine a Saturday without the Club in my heart if not in my life but the cause should not be expected to be an indefinite one for any one person. After all, this is only football.

I wish everybody involved with the Club every success but at this moment in time it seems I must pray first for its future without me in these troubled times. I would like to thank the social club for letting me finish my Chairmanship back home in Bedfont in the last two seasons having been a nomadic club in ground share during our promotion years which makes our elevation through the pyramid even more astonishing. For the good of football in this Town I believe it is time for me to step aside and let others step up to take this club to a new higher level and fulfil my dream of seeing its results on TV.

I wouldn't have got this far without Stewart, Bob and Lawrence and the Club would be nothing without them. In almost a life time in football there is so much to say, but as always I prefer to follow my philosophy that there is strength in silence just as there should always be respect in a handshake. I hope I will be welcomed back some day as a supporter if not a sponsor. I will sign off as I signed the first ever welcome to players at the Club all those years ago...

Good Luck, God Bless and [censored]!

Had it confirmed today by one of the committee members of Bedfont Social Club that this Thursday they will be urging their members at an EGM to vote to merge with Feltham to become 'Bedfont & Feltham United', basically selling the leasehold for 60k over 5 years. Exciting times ahead for Feltham by the sounds of things and presumably a good bet for promotion next season?

Wonder who the manager will be next season?

I know one thing for certain green pea it wont be me, like you mate i cant wait to get out of the place. i have had enough of their back stabbing , its marraige made in heaven the village idiots in a marriage with the local pikeys Edited by lol4
