When will clubs learn, when a sugar daddy comes along, normally there's only really one outcome, and that ends in tears. So many clubs have fallen by the wayside when the sugar daddy decides to leave....unless you are Sheikh Mansour ;) !!! But what would happen to Man City if he decides to bail out ?

He was obviously the main benefactor and second to none for securing sponsorship, that’s no secret, however the club could continue to run without him but it’s whether anybody has the passion and appetite to take on a ready built step 4 club. There were plans and agreements made 2 years ago to secure a long-term future of Bedfont Town, these haven’t worked out and all will come out in the public domain in due course I’m sure.

Founder of the club securing sponsorship is hardly a sugar daddy coming along NG, although I agree there are plenty of lessons to be learnt and I'll pass these on to anybody interested when the time is right.

DOUG was more than just a sugar daddy. in my conversations with him i seemed to get the feeling that he did not like the money side of football although he knew it would change his club. GP you seem to have a lot of commitee decked out in club gear, does nobody want to take up where mr white left off. also what now the future of the ACADAMY. this will not be able to run without a senior 1st team.

The club (and 1st team) still very much exists at the moment with Garry Haylock deputising as Chairman and driving the Academy plans. I have nothing but respect for the man and hopeful there is a club to go and watch when I have time next season.

Re the committee, the volunteers we have are a credit to any football club when it comes to match day duties, however these guys are simply volunteers.

I don't know Garry on a personal level as well as you Newby but as far as a football level is concerned I've not met anybody as knowledgeable in coaching, and testament to his ability is the squad playing for him for £0 since January, with just 2 players leaving for money elsewhere. He's done a great job.

playing for £0 would only have been done as a favour. Those same players surely wont do it again next season?? May have to get my fingers stuck in the Bedfont pie!

Not to sure if the former chaiman is to blame for any demise that Bedfont Town have been through, he simply listens to what a manger want, trust him and then supplies him with the funds to progress. I must admit, from what was being said when Dennis Bainborough was in charge and especially when Mark Cooper came in there was some healthy budgets in place. Looking at results when Dennis was in charge I'm sure if he did not need to go abroad then Bedfont Town would have been up amungst the best but, dear oh dear,,, what happened when Mr Cooper came in must have shocked a few and hurt a few pockets.

Dennis was a great manager for the club, probably the best around at step 5 as his record of winning championships in three different step 5 leagues shows. Spoke to him only a few days ago and he's back over here at the end of the month.

I agree GP he did get some good results along the way. Is it the end of season over in new zealand?? Please let us know any info on the situation as it would be a shame for town to fold, coming from where they did aswell!!

Thanks

DK

His name was Kevin Cooper DK and I always thought it was a strange choice as a certain JB was there and raring to have a go at it. But football is all about opinions and I for one hope that Bedfont Town can stay around ......

I'm sure the situation will unfold over the next few weeks DK, and I agree it will be a shame if the club do fold but as I've said before we'll always be proud of what we've achieved and where we came from. I don't think we've ever fallen out with another club, football in Bedfont is full of hatred, bitterness and envy as we found out shortly after making the move there 2 years ago, I believe we've managed to steer clear of all of that and wish all of the other clubs in the area all the best.

Coops is a salesman Weebs, he made a good sale to the Chairman to get the job. No regrets or bad feelings towards him though, he gave it everything he had but unfortunately it didn't work out, will always appreciate the efforts.

What do you mean when a sugar daddy comes along?

Doug has been at bedfont for years

When I played for them doug managed and played for the 3rd side because he loves football and has put lot into the club with probably no return
