Welcome to Whyteleafe (maybe)

Today's FA announcement has the air of chocolate teapot about it with Whyteleafe having been allocated to "Combined Counties/Kent League".

:D

The FA will have to make their minds up before then. I would guess they have to decide what to do with the Step 5 leagues in the interim.

The Kent League AGM is 14 June and CCL on 24 June. I would hope to hear something more helpful next week.

The argument is clear. The FA want all step 5 leagues to have a minimum of 20 clubs by 2013/14. It would be sensible to bring the KL to 18 club for 2012/13 and add two more for 2013/14.

Nope i don't think they have been reprieved Kroons... it looks like the FA have made a mistake in their statement, as the leagues all have 22 teams in, and that does not include Bedfont.

Ware were next in line for a reprieve from Bedfont going, and are now in the div one north constitution, so i guess from Bedfont going, it meant that Royston got put over to Southern central instead of being in the Ryman one North.

But if anyone was to go under soon, they would be next in line (that is how i see it anyway, i could be wrong)

I see Whyteleafe have been reprieved and am presuming that means C+H will be too.

C & H's position also depends on Dorking Wanderers application. If they're allowed to switch leagues I assume they'll come straight into the Premier Division as they finished in a promotion place last season although I don't know the details of their ground grading. I know they've got the basics - enclosed ground, lights and stand. The stand's portable I think but wasn't it Westfield who got a portable stand in to get the grading a couple of seasons ago?

Just my guess but it's possible we'll only get Wanderers (assuming their ground's alright) if we don't get Whyteleafe.

Neil, whats Godalming as a club, your and Jon's views in being moved to the Southern League after getting so close this season in the Rymans ? Can't be happy with that surely ?

In all honesty we are really pleased, the travelling in the Ryman league is getting worse every season, and is almost becoming a Kent League, the travelling in the Southern Central is better for us by about 25%.

It was actually the league myself and Jon wanted last year, and as a club we made the Southern league and Ryman league know our views, so to get it this year was great.

There are some big sides in Ryman one south next year in terms of financial strength, likes of Leatherhead, Dulwich Worthing Maidstone Tooting etc, and then with a few kent sides like Hythe and Whitstable also throwing money at it by all accounts it might have been a tougher league that last year (not to say i wouldn't fancy our chances against them, but as clubs they have more financial strength than what we do)

Obviously we had a good year last season, and we would be looking to have a right go at the southern league this season, but i know there are some decent sides in that league also, so time will tell...

Either way i just can't wait to get started already.... we can now look forward to things like FA Cup/Vase/Trophy draws, and await our individual league fixtures... Got to love non league football!!!!

Might have to wait until the Sussex FA AGM.

Incidently, I think the Wanderers web-site has been removed. Very strange.

Whatever the circumstances I'm pretty sure the FA wont ever budge if the grading not complete by 31st March. Look at Guildford City last season. Seem's a sensitive subject! one poor poster had his head bitten off by someone from Dorking to dare reveal the facts of the league meeting
