AFC Dunstable in The Premier

Recommended Posts

The committee of AFC Dunstable would like to thank the management team of Alex, Dermot, Justin and lately Paul for a great first season in the Premier. No promoted team over the past 10 years have finished top 3. Well done. Looking forward to next season and will be interesting to see if we can match it.

Whilst not wishing to take anything away from your remarkable achievement, there has been two previous occasions on which a promoted club has achieved this.

In 2000-01 Letchworth were Senior Division Champions (in those days we had a Premier Division, Senior Division and Division One). The following season 2001-02 Letchworth finished Premier Division Runners-Up.

In 2003-04 Haywood United were Division One Champions and the following season 2004-05 finished third in the Premier Division.

As already said it takes a great club to accomplish what AFC Dunstable have achieved this term so congratulations to all at the club.

I'm sure if Rhodes had come out with this reply he would be battered from pillar to post on here :D

(even though you made it clear not taking away from Dunstables achievement)

He wouldn't have made a sensible and informed post such as this.
