Paul n
this year I have been bringing my young daughters to New Lodge for the first time. I have a problem at the turnstiles where I can't pay in the same turnstile as them. It means I have to pay for the girls and they go through and then I have to queue up again in adult turnstiles for myself. girls are really too young to pay and wait. yesterday was a good 5 mins because of congestion. I noticed other families with same problem, which resulted in many frustrated parents, possibly on their first visit to the ground. Can't understand why adults and concessions can't go through same turnstile. Other clubs seem to manage. Next year I think we also may have a need for second catering outlet and far side of ground near the ttoilets. probably been thought of already up queues on last few weeks have been huge and hopefully average crowds will increase further next year. Even if another outlet just selling teas and cold snacks.
blue pilgrim
I'm sure somebody from the Club will pick up on this point Paul. Bringing in new supporters is vital for the future and anything that can be done to improve their experience should be considered. Going to a higher league, I am sure the Committee will be looking at improvements within the constraints of the budget. On a less important note, I think the Programme quality will have to be re-considered.
Delboybtfc
The main reason for splitting the gates is so we can accurately check the money taken and correctly report the attendances. It is difficult enough with 2 different prices through each gate to get an accurate figure and with a complete mixture would be even more difficult. We understand your concerns with your children but if you speak to one of the personel outside the turnstyles we will always assist so that you do not have to leave your children unattended. There are usually at least 3/4 grandparents out there on duty so we are simpathetic to your problem.
Paul n
Ok thanks Delboy. I thought that may have been the reason. thanks for the reply
Ryan.c
As an idea, is it possible to open up ONE of the old turnstiles as a family turnstile and tick off adults and kids on a sheet of paper? It may ease congestion and keep parents happy...
Brightside Bloke
That is actually a really good idea. and have someone friendly dealing with the family gate. (not that we don't have friendly people already out there)
The Great Eckscape
I would have thought that most clubs just have a tick box system for Adults, Concessions, Kids etc
