ESL to have a winter break ?

Recommended Posts

It's strange having a desert in the heart of Enfield complete with sandstorms!

Should think our pitch will be unplayble as soon as we have a wet spell. It's obviously too late to save any of the grass on it this season, but we have to try and ensure that our hosts get it well maintained for next year. Afterall, it doesn't help our style of play,

Talking of the pitch.......I'm very dissapointed that ETFC havn't attempted to water the pitch through out the dry spell.....I know the groundsman has been ill,but with the clubs organisation skills,i'm suprised no action has been taken....I believe the condition of the pitch HAS cost us points this season....and the lack of maintainance so far, means it will cost us more points ,during the season....All Roy Butlers hard work he did on the pitch,pre-season,seems to have been wasted by lack of watering.

Someone suggested the other day that Brimsdown weren't too keen to pay the bill for any watering and that is why it has been left. Does it say anything in our groundshare agreement about Brimsdown maintaining the pitch?

[maybe we could subtly pilfer the turf from a local bowling green?! or each supporter with a bit of grass (lawn) at home has to bring in a square metre at the next home match?!]

part of the problem is the actual water supply is just standard mains and pipes. It is does not have the capability to be watered.

I fear a little bit of realism is needed (i.e. we are not @ Southbury) the facilities are not set up for Ryman standard.

Brimmo were/are quite happy with what they have; and it is obvious they have no appetite to se improvements just look how long it takes to get anything done.

Maybe we can then wait for the iceberg and let it melt on the pitch?

Might give a break though!

A Titantic of an idea!

This isn't our maiden season!

If it snows get the kids role the biggest snowball they can through the gate and onto the pitch. Hey presto problem solve for a day or two!
