Many, many congratulations and a BIG BIG thank you to Steve and his players for this outstanding result. This was a real test of character for the team and we passed with flying colours.

We now go two points clear at the top and all the pressure is suddenly heaped on the shoulders of our friends over at Leiston in a 'must win' match against Potters Bar.

Automatic promotion or not, this has been a fantastic season for our Club, and today's result will give the team an enormous boost of confidence if it is to be the play-offs.

Well done guys, and well done to all you Towners who made the trip over to East Thurrock to support the team and help them deliver the result we all wanted.

Fantastic !!!

UP THE TOWN

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS ARE BELOW. A great performance by ETFC yesterday with every player really putting in 100%. I though Gio and Kirby at the back were immense with Deano and Rudi in midfield also standing out. Danny Barber continued on from the Leiston game. A proud day to be a Towner.

Grays Athletic have a good team and we all know they will be no mugs should we play them in the play-offs especially if they play Harry Agombar in midifeld who came on as a late sub yesterday. That is going to be one close game should it happen but COME ON YOU SCHOLARS AT LEISTON and we won't be needing that one!!!!

A massive congratulations to Steve Newing and the team.

Alot of people (esp Grays fans) were perplexed about the penalty given so I think the replay shows that is was handball and after the player's booking for the challenge on Deano in the first half a fair sending off. Having said that the challenge was late and didn't have any malice behind it.

Mention must go the referee who on a difficult pitch for tackles etc was one of the best officials we've seen all season.

I also thought the ref done well considering the players had trouble timing tackles in the slippery conditions. I also kind of wish he sent Bradley off for his tackle, that way he wouldnt have been on the pitch to give away the penalty :D

Having said that you probably would have won as our 10 players struggled to contain you anyway. Maybe see you all tuesday and if you are lucky maybe we will be off to Suffolk sometime this week instead!!
