Winslow United on the hunt for new 1st team manager

Recommended Posts

Tony Court is his assistant.

Don't think I know him? Who is he? I heard Gary Flynn is he involved or not?

Apparently Tony Court played for Winslow under Mick Foster he must have been a good player.

Betraying confidents? Not sure which spelling for that meaning :)

Haha cool fair play, seems I am slightly out the loop as my old man knew about Tony Court anyway

An interesting piece by Kit Bamber where he says, "It's been bit of a strange time for me, but for the good of the club it's something we needed to do and will work out for the best. I will be staying at the club as the first team coach and will support Perry Mercer in any way I can. Myself, Colin O'Dell, Gareth Robins and Paul Talbot could not have seen what was coming with so many senior players leaving but the main thing is we jumped on the situation quickly and resolved it by bringing in Perry as first team manager. We had 35 players at training last night and from what we have seen over the last few sessions it has been nothing short of total commitment from players to the club and the realization that it is a reserves and first team re build. Many players are new and they are already bonding well and really enjoying the training, although it is tough and I'm not letting them have any time to sit back and relax. It is still early days in some sense due to the change, but over the next six weeks things will settle down and Perry will start to mould the squad more and more. Colin and myself spoke on many occasions and he and others wanted me to stay with the club and help with the re-build, everyone at the club has been so helpful and that helped me make my decision. Perry and myself have had a few training sessions together and it's working out very well, he lets me coach and steps in to help when players are feeling the burn! We both like the old school approach, players are expected to train hard and we will not accept anything else, but we also bring in a lot of banter to help players enjoy their time at the club and they are really embracing this. We are now looking forward to pre-season games starting with Aylesbury United on the 24th and further games against Reading Town, Northampton Sileby Rangers, Pitstone FC, AFC Rushden& Diamonds & a Luton Town XI"

Cliff,

You've just copied the article word for word, cut and paste style. Much like you did with the Hoddesdon Town Programme 3 years ago.....

Jeez cut him some slack just for once! Was actually worthwhile copy and paste because it was interesting and saved me visiting another site.

We don't always need to fight every post of Rhodes... Just sayin
