Winslow United on the hunt for new 1st team manager

Recommended Posts

Winslow Boy - you've won promotion already!!

Two points worth bearing in mind:-

This will drive Rhodes round the facking bend.

The season hasn't even started yet and you could have a new change of manager by October or before if the current doesn't get results!

Oh, and another one, think of all those new grounds you will be visiting!

Would think I've played at all but being based where I am I would think only ones like Cockfosters I may go and watch. However I won't be actively involved like others I can't back the choice and therefore will be very much watching and waiting from afar. I worried for our results this year in div2 let alone div1. Grumble grumble grumble. Might change my name to Victor Meldrew lol

Had the SSML hierarchy listened to you in the first place regards Tik Tok then who knows, maybe you could have kept hold of Dammo too.

I know the club should be Div 1 but think this has come a year too late

Have to say sad that you can finish 7th and get promoted makes a mockery of the whole league system really.

Please explain what my "hidden agenda" could possibly be

Winslow Boy - I have a feeling that it might have something to do with your FA Vase tie against Buckingham Town last season

No that had nothing to do with Kit and everything to do with a couple of d!ckheads who know who they are. You still haven't answered my questions. I will accept the answer that you have no knowledge on the subject and you were just making an unfounded statemebanana that all you know if what you have found by googling. and I do have an agenda only it's not hidden I want a progressive, successful and ambitious club and this appointment failed hugely in that regard. There is my agenda and you can quote me

Talc I agree however we should never have been placed in division 2 anyway our last season in div1 we finished very comfortably in the top half an Tik Tok got reinstated in that Div after a season out but we were not given the same courtesy which seems strange since Tik Toks posisition on an off field had not changed and ours clearly had. You are right it is a nonsense but it's not the only restructuring of this sort and given out managerial situation I certainly don't welcome it. Plus finishing 5th season before should have been good enough as it was for Woodson

I will watch Winslow United's results next season with interest.

Is that because you are a sadist lol? No I'm joking thanks mate. I hope it won't make as dismal reading as I expect it too

Totally agree with you that's why I believe the SML dont really know what they are doing half the time.

I meant to say 4th year before.

With Bletchley folding it left both Division One and Division Two with an odd number of clubs thus meaning two sides would be kicking their heels on full matchdays. So surely it made sense to promote one club from Division Two into Division One at the AGM and with Winslow having lights there could be no arguement.

However as the only club with facilities it would only be a matter of time. FA ruling means the top 6 are eligible automatically but it sounded like it was a league rule to allow some movement of clubs at the members discretion. Someone had been scouring the rule book in the close season

Following a statement by the Winslow chairman there was a vote to decide if they should be promoted - only about a dozen voted against.

TringArmy - You can say that again, it reminds me a bit of when Kentish Town were promoted to Division 1 in 2003/2004 when finishing tenth

So let me get this right just for Rhodes , bletchley town manager James Cain leaves for stony and fair play to him and I wish my friend all the luck , and bletchley fold not just 1 team but 2 . Mmmm Rhodes how comes you have not said anything , but when I left padbury you was all over it like a rash , so I have come to the conclusion you have a problem with me , so grow a pair you sad piece of scum shit and come and introduce your self .

Actually I wasn't even aware of this. I have no problem with you whatsoever as you seem like a down to earth bloke, the whole Padbury United episode just left a sour taste in the mouth that's all

What about Amersham finishing 2nd bottom in same season and being docked 12 points and still put up.

By the way, finished 2nd bottom in Div 1 following season and still stayed up and finished bottom in 2005-6 and guess what, yes stayed up.

Finishing 7th in Div 2 proved Winslow weren't ready for Div.1, Sun Postals record was that poor logic says they should have been relegated instead.

It's a lottery when promotion and relegation comes down to a show of hands

Yep agreed. However those players and manager that achieved 7th place are all at Buckingham Athletic. We ain't ready for North Bucks under new "manager".
