Winslow United on the hunt for new 1st team manager

Recommended Posts

As the sports shots link I posted yesterday said Winslow United are looking for a new Supremo to take the reigns at "The Gate" Anyone who is interested in the vacant manager's role at Winslow United, or would like more details, should contact

chairman Colin O'Dell on 07702 163 087.

With I believe 6 youth sides running next year which are now producing talent for the reserves and first team and a girls team next year, the club continues to grow on and off the field. With further facility improvements planned and FA Chartered status not far away it is a great challenge for someone with ambition and ability, with a terrific support structure in place that is second to none.

I think he will do well at buck , least they haven't done a padbury and fold just because there manager left

I think he will too. He will be able to get in some quality players that just didn't want to play in div 2. Can't say as I really wish him bet of luck lol but I'm sure he will do very well.

Ps should arrange a friendly

I see that Winslow United will close their applications process for a new manager at the end of this month with interviews due to take place during the first week of June, how many irons in the fire are there at the moment out of interest:

Must register my shock and disappointment at what seems to me to be a gutless, clueless and unambitious decision by our committee (which inexplicably seems to have a member of Mursley on it, conflict of interest anyone?) I don't wish to upset anyone but I also will only call it as I see it. With some excellent candidates overlooked for a manger not wanted by either Buck town or Ath and who clearly wasn't that interested in the post as he only applied after being sacked which shows he'd rather have stayed put. Having heard that he doesn't have a pool of players (must all rather stay at town too) which for me is first and foremost at this level I find it astonishing that he could be chosen over guys who have great contacts have won leagues and managed higher levels and showed a passion to do the job by applying way back. I sincerely hope Kit shoves these words down my throat and I will be first to apologise. However two passionate important members of the committee have already said they are stepping away I will be distancing myself and won't be on here much, I want an ambitious, winning and competitive side/club and can't face what I expect the season to be now. Attendances will fall I imagine Pre season will be a wash out with only a handful of players. We won't be able to keep Phil, Ainger, Wiff etc now as we are clearly not looking to move forward on the pitch and Damo's decision to leave looks better by the day he will be p!ssing himself along with a whole load of clubs. I won't be on here much now because it seems like the club has given up so why should I care. A f/cking joke. As I said I hope Kit and the committee throw this back in my face by being a success because I love the club and all I want is for it to be as good as it could and should be...... But I can't help but feel this is a poor decision and one that will be sorely regretted. or perhaps all they want is North Bucks pub level football? I cannot believe excellent candidates PM, FC, JS who felt they could win this league (showed passion by applying early etc...)and the next one, could be over looked I can only apologise. now these guys will never again be an option for us as I'm sure they are very put out as I would be. The club had a chance to do something radical and exciting and start bringing success on the pitch. For the first time we have been spoilt for choice and because too many people who shouldn't have a say did and others should have didn't. Some people who holding the club back who should be shown the door too but they are "part of the furniture" I hope no one is offended as I mean no offence I are deeply as do many others about the club and feel a great chance to do something has been overlooked and I will be distancing myself along with quite a number of others I cannot bear for the club to continue to struggle and be a laughing stock so I'll not be around much from now on. I'm sure I'll take a few pelters and so be it. Winslow FC need to wake up before its too late if it isn't already I really feel it could be beginning of the end when it should have been beginning of something special! And if they think it will be a civil club success how will that be if there is no players? And if we are doing poorly? Do we want a social club or a football club?

No bollox, no clue and no ambition apparently. And it's goodnight from me.

Yours sincerely, distressed, upset, concerned, shocked, appalled, angry, embarrassed

Always Winslow Boy

Ps please please please prove me wrong and make me look a total c/nt nothing would make me happier.

Winslow Boy - Sorry, I didn’t read it at the time but I have now, to be honest I don’t understand what your problem is as Kit Bamber is a decent Manager

My problem is stated above I would say he is decent at best but we had some superb candidates. Today I find out his way of "contacting" players is a message on Facebook page asking them to come training. Pathetic, weak, uninspiring. His highest places finish in div 2 is 9th and his record under Buckingham town is hardly great. Please explain how you know he is "decent"? Have you seen him coach at training? Met and spoke to him about football? How many times have you watched his sides play? Has e any notable achievements? I really eould like a straight answer. I am sure you last post was a slight dig we are all aware of your dislike of Winslow over the years. Frankly it's a joke of an appointment and I can honestly see us not even being able to raise a side. Mercer would have got a side capable of winning div 1 -Frank Clay has won div 2 and James Smith could have got a quality side in. Bamber showed no desire for the job by seeking it out early where as the aforementioned came straight for it.

Rhodes doesn't think!!!

Probably confused him with Bamber Gasgoine

More likely Bam Bam from the Flintstones. can't see Rhodes having the intelligence to watch University Challenge.

Everyone I have solemn too is totally despondent it's all a bit doom and gloom. Found out that some wanted to go for CB after Padbury folded but the same old miserable fuddy duddys resisted. Well has f/cking shown them to Promotions great Vase run Prem football and great future. Something we could have had with a proper choice out of our applicants.Must say I hope wish and want him to shove this all so far down my throat.

I see that Kit Bamber felt somewhat aggrieved at being relieved of his duties by Buckingham Town and it sounds from their Blog (see link below) that he was highly rated by the Club's loyal fans. Interesting that Bamber states ‘the players are disappointed because they respect me as a person and a manager and I respect all of them’, I’m sure many of them will follow him, Pied Piper of Hamelin like, to Elmfields Gate:

Maybe if you knew what the f**k you was talking about you'd for once get some credit rather than trawling clubs sites and just talking total crap

Hi Rhodes I'm disappointed you haven't got round to answering my questions about your knowledge of Kit Bamber, when you get a moment I'd be very interested to hear.
