last saturday we were awesome AFF....superb...unbeatable....we crushed carshalton and it could have been 10....glad I was there as we probably won't get a repeat performance like that for a while...

He-heh! I'll happily do the job. Wouldn't want too much in the way of payment either - just a few pints in the boardroom after the game, and I will of course be playing all the (original) EFM lads in Herts Senior Cup and Bryco matches.

 

Were there not 'dark days' six years ago too, when the club was 24 hours from closure, only to be given a reprieve in the New Year of '98?

It was offered me, RON, but the money just wasn't there to strengthen the squad. The Chairman wasn't willing to stump up the £600 a week needed to bring Thornsy into the squad.

If the club won't give you the tools to do the job, let Castle keep the seat warm for you until they realise the Zeal-EFM partnership is the only way forward. The boy's started OK with a point off the mighty-Iron.

 

(Although I've got to say that Thornsy has up'd the anti a bit since my day but, hey, I suppose you get what you pay for. It's not often a club gets the opportunity to bring in quality like that.)
