Unfortunately kirby, number 4 (nor his mum) could be there to meet us. Thanks to everyone for your words of support over the last 3 days. It has made a hugely arduous task just that little big less so.

Absolutely echo that comment, thanks for the support it has helped. And thanks to Ian and Pippa for running the support vehicles. It was extremely tough but glad we made it for "kick off". And for those of you who don't know our marathon man Peter Riley incredibly RAN long stretches!

We have also decided that the criteria for selecting walks moves from last away game to "flattest away game.

I cannot say that I enjoyed the walk but felt a sense of achievement in completing it.

Although we were pretty certain the game would be called off the other three guys were very motivational in keeping the group going and arriving well before kick off time even though there was no game to watch.

It was no surprise really that the game was called off because of a water logged pitch as we had been walking for all of the three days in almost non stop rain.

I was disappointed that I got my first blister (8 miles ) at such an early stage that meant the rest of the walk was quite painful.

Friday was particularly challenging as the rain was torrential and non stop -the days walk consisted mainly of a 16 mile section of the A413 with no footpath to walk on and vehicles charging past you at 70 mph and spraying you with even more water.

Very few highlights to speak of although I was interested by Radders fascination for "roadkill" and Martins love/hate affair with Tesco.

I echo the thanks given to our support team particularly Ian (that Kay is a lucky girl) as well as Pippa and the support shown by the messages on the forum.

Fantastic effort from all 4. I'm sure its in hand but whenever we actually get to play the play off semi finals hope they go on the pitch for a round of applause and to collect some more cash.

Well having walked 70 miles and come away with one small blister and tired feet, I have just got out of the car and twisted something and am totally crokcked.

 

Just goes to show that walking is far safer.
