Best and Worst SSML Division 1 Grounds

Recommended Posts

Worst ground for me is stony , the changing rooms are tiny and it's a 5 min walk to the pitch . The best ground I will have a think about , the worst pitch by far was st Albans

You would think Chesham Res, St Albans Res, Wodson Park and Crawley Green as they play at Step 3 and 4 grounds respectivley as the best. Langford must be up there along with Kings Langley. Buckingham decent, as I hear have new changing rooms now. Not overly impressed with Harpenden though. Again changing rooms tiny and pitch not the best.

Ref Off Ref - I've been to Ostlers Lane a few times, I get tired just thinking about the San Carlos Bay to Port Stanley style hike from the Club house and dressing rooms to the pitch

I can think of two completely different reasons why you as a Hanwell Town supporter might not have to suffer this route march!

Savagebee - It actually makes the yomp from San Carlos Bay to Port Stanley, during the Falklands War, seem like chicken feed so if Hanwell Town are relegated and play there next season make sure you go prepared

Were you in the Falklands campaign then Cliff?

Is it too late to send him there?

Never too late so long as you don't book him a return ticket

I always liked going to Forde Park, Langford & also think that London Colney & Hoddesdon are good grounds for Step 6. I don't ever remember playing at Clarence Park, St.Albans but that is a nice old fashioned ground. Of the worst grounds, i thought that Harpenden Town's ground needed a fair bit of work on it. It didn't help that we got tanked in a friendly there as well !

Best playing surface would have to be Cranfield, along with changing rooms. I think they need to develop the stands and get some decent seating area in there though and it would be a really tidy ground.

Worst....Stony and Buckingham Athletic for the size of the changing rooms.

Lancing was probably the best ground we played at this season though with Oadby being the very worst pitch by far!!

nice one, we now have 100 seats with plans for another stand and new fencing all round the pitch. We would also like netting behind both goals. A little at a time tho and oh yes a new defence ????

Must be the only club in the sml with a big screen and 4 flat screens in the clubhouse and all the footy shown.

Cracking clubhouse, surface always looks good. Improvements will make it a fecking good prem standard ground by the sounds of it. Cranfield used to have really good baths before health and safety decided to ruin another football tradition

Harpenden away changing room is terrible.....didnt they paint the walls black in there as well??

Also remember them having to clear a dead chicken off the pitch before we played! haha
