Play Off Semi & Final

Recommended Posts

Obviously we have at least one home game in the play offs, the Semi. And another one probably if we win that.

Is there anything we can do differently from normal matchdays to make everything run more smoothly.

I went to the play off final at tonbridge last year and the set up was obviously different from usual with a beer tent & barbecue area as well as the usual catering they had. They also had other things going on although I can't remember too much what else there was.

Maybe the Semi Final wouldn't need too much changing but if we got to the final then I could see, things like getting a drink would be a major problem with just the bar area open.I would of thought the club would of talked about this but I am sure they would welcome any other ideas???

We can do without the Tonbridge fans 'welcome' to the Lowestoft fans scenario.

Can't remember what we did for Peterborough - There was a seperate beer tent.

Can we reclaim our other burger van!

Are we a bit limited on space?

I think getting a beer will be the major problem like you touched on. Most of the negative things I've heard from away fans has been getting a beer. I'm not sure what u think and what the guys normally do who work behind the bar but mate an extra person or two might help.

Something that one of the pubs do at tottenham is have a beer can tent. They have a fridge with cans of lager and beer inside a gazebo. Maybe we could put one next to the burger van and use a PowerPoint in that. And get a gazebo or something to cover it.

Just a few ideas.

I'm happy to help behind the bar or anything really. Just let me know what you need if anything.

As your semi-final is at home..then winning for once in midweek might help... :)

Lots of other clubs have draught beer already pulled and just top it up.

Especially at Half Time.

Same at the Oval and Lords for the Cricket.

Get Fosters to sponsor the game.

They have people walking aroung with the beer on there back.

This may not be popular, but round prices up/down so change giving is limited.

All Beers £3. More chance of people having right money.

Got to say, the bar at the club is pretty quick, I had two visits to the bar the hour before the Bill'n'ricky game and for the first waitied maybe three minutes at the most (was around 45 minutes before KO), and the second time around 30 seconds (30 mins before KO). But the easy way around it is for a bottle/can station on the decking just outside the bar or next to the burger bar, as I think was done vs Wimbledon a few years ago, especially if the sun is out!

Sorry,what is sun??

Personally,I would leave the admission alone. It's probably too late to do anything for this Saturday, certainly to publicise it properly.Even if we did Market it somewhat,we can't advertise it properly as we don't know who we will be playing,or if we get to the final, where we will be playing or who.

It is still possible that we will be away for the final if we get there, possibly at Lowestoft, although not ideal,it wouldn't be the worst day out going.

Suggest we try to win by as big a margin as possible on Saturday. Just like Ricay to throw their match just to relegate us to third.

Lol you lot need to start winning, not bottling it and blaming other people. You win and you are second simples.

PS If you end up playing Bury it may help to have some walking aids available as they do have some difficulty staying on their feet.

Not sure how Leatherhead will play it, whether they aren't bothered or will throw 100% at it in a last act of defiance. Will have to assume the latter. Sure we won't bottle it though.

Yeah, we had a spot of trouble with Bury keeping on their feet at their place. They won the game after they got our centre-half sent off.

Lol JL

I know what you are saying but I think the difficulty is in this situation is knowing whether to stick or twist.

With our first X1 I would have no problem backing us to win but I think we would ideally like to rest players but doing so could mean it makes it harder to finish 2nd.It's all about finding a balance. That's why I am glad jimmy has to make that choice,I will just have a beer and get pi$$ed
