He is back looking for Batemans job, as it looks like it will be up for grabs considering Batemans very poor decisions and the total lack of motivation and control - Bateman has thrown away our chances of promotion.

Harsh B&C! Very harsh, the players also need to take their share of the blame, once they cross that white line there is only so much a manager can do! We could still gain promotion yet, if we don't then I'm sure a lot of us will be asking questions!

Steve Bateman's strengths are his man-management and his ability to get experienced non-league players to play for him.He appears a calm,rational man who is approachable and not a hot-head loud mouth[like many football managers] or is he unrealistically demanding of his squad and so is loyal.

 

His weaknesses are his tactical knowledge, adapting his team play to better the opposition and win matches, and letting his players get away with poor performances and unsporting behaviour. Also not being able to motivate and mould young players into first team players.

 

He is a good manager for this level and one above but I'm not convinced he is going to be a great one.However,he is better than all the ones we had in the Martin Deaner years.Too many ex-players with no mangerial experience at all[apart from Graham Roberts].

Steve Bateman is a step forward in that concern.
