Stadium plans have come to a halt I'm afraid, we have decided to install a runway instead, allowing the overseas players direct access to the ground

yes of course tommo...i don't know you so not trying to upset you...BUT....i do have a direct question for you...you posted recently on the subject of players lack of ambition/wanting to play with mates in the ccl....why therefore would you turn down other offers to stay with bagshot in the surrey intermediate league?

Because I am still only 30 BB, family issues, 6 month old baby, puts a strain on commitment at CCL level. I wouldn't want to commit myself to a higher club, without knowin 100% i could commit. And being young still, another year in the Surrey Intermediate wouldn't hurt...build up the CV a bit more, then I would be at a better stage in my life to commit higher.

There is very little player ambition at this level here&there, playing with your mates and enjoying yourself seems to be the key factor. Players would rather win every week, and enjoy themselves than push for higher level football. Plus, with footballers being so fickle these days, not many hve the drive and determination to move higher and fight for a position. In my day, if I was on the bench, I would see it as a challenge and try to fight my way into a squad...now players will just move on and play somewhere else. Which also questions players loyalty and commitment at this level. In my opinion the standard of football in the Combined Counties has dropped dramatically.

 

MT, have you not got an assistant, assistant job a a CCL team for next season? Just a bit concerned about your perception of your players before you've even started there?!

 

 

If a player leaves to go to a club with money,he's a mercenary,if a player leaves to go to a higher division,he's a big time Charlie! If a player drops down a div,he has no ambition! Bore off.

Injuries/family or work circumstances determin what level we play.

After 2 seasons of step 4 football I am back at Wembley.is that lack of ambition? No,it's me wanting to play football,at Christmas I was sitting on the bench at Hendon and at 34 felt it was wasting my football time.im playing for a manager knows what he gets from me week in week out,I want win things and believe Wembley will push hard next season but they ain't the money bags people think they are.

Desire is what every player at this level should have! To enjoy each game and play it as if it was their last,no matter what level.
