What league for Royston

Recommended Posts

Difficult to say. With Wroxham, Witham Town and Royston Town all coming up who all could go R1DN.

Think Royston will go Southern Central like St Neots, Biggleswade Town have done.

Biggleswade Town, Chalfont and Aylerbury FC went up to the D1 Central from the SSML Prem. I would assume it will be the same this time around for Royston.

But where will Kings Lynn Town go, if Royston and Shortwood from the Hellenic are favs for the Southern League.

Its looking like PPG will come into it again. Royston look OK for that though.

Does Royston's PPG (3rd in country) devalue the SSMFL Premier though. Is the league too unbalanced with decent teams and some very poor teams.

Where would Ware go into should they be relegated? Nice to see them in SSML for more local derbies but could they be put in ESL to boost numbers?

Ware do seem to be favourites for SML. Great Wakering seem to be destined for the ESL

The original Kings Lynn were in the Northern Premier when they folded so possibly into that league.

Don't Ware want the ESL themselves ?

I dont think it will be up to the club. FA decision. Wodson Park, who are in Div 1, play at Ware FC, so seem to be in our catchment.

. I wouldn't be surprised if both go to the ESL to top up the numbers. Haringey share with an ESL team and Hanwell share with one from the CCL so I don't think Wodson playing there makes a difference. Could mean 3 come up instead or only 1 down. I can hear Roger drafting his AGM speech now

I believe that if no-one gets relegated from Step4 (or transferred from another Step 5 League), the 21st placed team would get reprieved ahead of Hoddedon being a third club promoted. All to play for for Hanwell and Hatfield in their final games on Saturday!

Cheers ROR.

Never been to Ampthill's ground before so i hope so.

Do you think Ampthill wil retain this seasons players and reward them by giving them a chance to play in the Premier Division ? from what i saw from the Ampthill players in there away game against Kentish Town this season is that most if not all the Ampthill players could hold there own in the Premier Division i thought they played for each over and with lots of energy and passion

The players will soon find their level. Prem or Div 1, as we found out. Div 1 level players, we moved them on. (mainly to Crawley Green)

That's a decision that CB will make along with Tucks

Royston Town. Brings back happy memories of a Tuesday night trip in the Isthmian League Cup from Camberley. Great thing was we drew 3-3 and they had to come down for a reply the following tuesday !!!

No-one moaned about travelling and all that rubbish then. Just got on with it !!!
