Dougie Freedman has agreed to send a Crystal Palace Xl to Tonbridge Angels to play in a benefit match for former

Palace player Scott Gooding next Wednesday, 25th April at 7.45pm. Having suffered two serious injuries to his cruciate ligament he has been advised by his medical advisers to retire from football.

Scott signed for Tonbridge Angels in 2006 from Gravesend & Northfleet (now Ebbsfleet United). He left the Angels in November 2007 to join Fisher Athletic but returned to Longmead in 2008 where he formed a successful partnership with Leon Legge in the centre of defence. Legge moved on to Brentford but Gooding was the Supporters Player of the Year for Season 2008/09.

Since then his career has been hampered by injury and the ongoing cruicate problem has meant his careeer has had to come to an end.
