Well said Marcus.

There was a really good article in When Saturday Comes recently about how fans demand the impossible, have become more and more impatient and call for managers heads after a few crap results. We ain't been playing well, but we are second and have the chance of a new ground in Slough. Get a [****!!****] grip.

Perhaps Harry will take over then, they lost 5 - 1 yesterday so he must be looking for a new job, I would imagine the England job is out of the question as well now. As my Aidan says these things appen.

Sorry CR we dont all know or at least I don't, whats all this about Coyne going?

Any assessment of how well SB has done (quite simply, bcos of our league position finishes over the last few years we have not done badly), has to take into account the budget.

None of us know what the budget is, but the management board do, so I'm happy to let them decide such things, and I will avoid pointless speculation until the close season, and then join in only if there is absolutely nothing else to talk about.

I didn't get to the Bedworth game but from the excellent unbiased report on the Slough Town website and from the fans views on this thread,I get the 'gist'.

My observation is that we always struggle against teams who play fast tempo football.Look how we always come apart when we play Chesham. It is not just that they have better footballers.Slough's game is too laboured and I don't believe our fitness levels are as good as they could be.We try to slow the game down to play at our pace but better sides don't let us. This is our downfall.Too many of our players struggle to keep up.This is why I believe next year we must add some younger players.

Steve Farmer[bedworth manager] was quoted as saying that he thought Slough's defence was slow.I think our midfield is slow, too which in turn invites pressure.

Having said that I don't think we need massive changes next year, regardless of what division we're in.Steve Bateman is a perfectly adequate manager for where Slough are currently at.His record of mid table and three play offs in 4 seasons is a good one.

I just wish he would update his tactical nous,as many of the games we've lost and drawn this year,we could of won with a bit more invention and guile. This is where he does lack.

How many shots do we have from outside the box? When's the last time we took a short corner?.When do we ever get a player that can go past a player in the centre of midfield? Why aren't we more direct at times? Why do we always play orthodox ways up front? We don't always have to play wingers to get results! Just some of the things Steve could change to have Slough functioning better,if we are to ever to be 'Champions'.

At home Bedworth IMO over-ran us in midfield and only the sending off and some heroics by Warro kept us in the game which allowed us to nick the win.

IMO the big difference between us and Bedworth on Saturday was again in midfield.

They do have some young, quick, mobile players in midfield and numerous times they broke quickly past our midfield which in turn put our defence under a lot of pressure.

Two of their goals came from excellent long range shots but again they were allowed plenty of space in which to create those chances just by being that much quicker in midfield and being allowed too much time and space in the dangerous areas in front of our back-line.
