Apology of sorts from the council on page 6 of the Gazette, now, how can they help us in future. OR should someone get sacked for being so inefficient.

Does explain why NOTHING happens when Thanet Council is involved. Always thought it was because they were a bunch of egoists who only worked for the benefit of their friends and family and were more interested in picking up £600,000 of ratepayers money each year in allowance rather than work for the community, but no it was because a member of staff was off sick or on holiday.

Is this the same reason for the Council failing to let anything happen in the Margate area apart from the KCC Turner Centre (extra Council land GIVEN away to the development than was needed) and Westwood Cross (when compulsory purchase orders were used to thrown elderly people out of their homes with no redress....funny they did not act as quick over Dreamland!!!!!)

Here it is!

Thanet Council has apologised to Margate FC for the delayed response in lease negotiations for a hotel to enable a stadium expansion.

Officials received evidence on February 1st and did not reply formally until February 13th,although an interim e.mail was sent on February 9th,explaining the letter from the club's agents was insufficient to justify the 125 yr lease that investors required.

A council spokesman said the authority did not believe the delay, caused by the unavailability of a senior officer, had affected Travelodge's decision to pull out of the deal.

The club has received a formal and written apology and is now exploring alternative developments with the council.
