Nothing between the two teams

Recommended Posts

So we all turned up today, both clubs fans in good numbers

To be fair the away support in terms of numbers from Billericay was impressive.

a crowd of nigh on 1100 with around 4-500 from ricay.

what we witnesssed was a drab affair in all honesty with neither side taking the initiative although it was Hornchurch's to try to win,we never really got going.

For me,Ricay set up not to lose, why would they do anything else and succeded,we tried to get going but just couldn't seem to get in our stride.

It is a bit of a shame, the game that was billed as the top non league game of the weekend ended as such but i didnt really expect anything else.

We move on and travel to Wealdstone saturday, where if we win we must still be in with a shout of the title.

Ricay and their fans will no doubt be buoyant and you can't blame them, but no side has ever won the league with a two point advantage and 3 games left, maybe next week they can start gloating but until then we must push on.

Very much share the sentiments posted above.

At this stage of the season Billericay are the more successful team by (only) 2 points. But they are not acros the finishing line yet and I will enjoy the last 3 remaining fixtures. 9 points still to play for.

A big "well done" to all the volunteers yesterday and both sets of fans

Was our att: of 1095 the largest we have had for a league game at the bridge. I don't think we had a larger crowd in our connie south days against the likes of Weymouth, Grays or Canvey. I do remember a crowd of just over 1000 with our return to the Ryman Prem against 'ricay.

Remember the 2007 one, couldn't believe the crowd for a Tuesday night.

Billericay came set up not to lose, I agree and they achieved their target. It was up to Hornchurch to break them down and we couldn't do it.

A win would almost certainly guaranteed them the title but it would leave them exposed at the back and would give us a chance to nick the points.

As much as I hate to say it, they were effective and it was stalemate for much of the game.

Disappointing game for the neutral but sometimes that's the way it pans out.
