Kids these days aren't stupid, they know the difference between right and wrong from an early age, they also know that the police can't touch them until they are 18. I propose a crime and morals lesson into the school timetable every week when kids learn about right and wrong and respect. The kids will have to sign off modules to state that they know and understand, for example not to break windows, then if they do this can be used as evidence.

Lots of money to be spent on youth clubs and stuff like that, give the kids an alternative to mucking about on street corners.

Prisons will be extended in size but made smaller in cell size and with less stuff to do in them, they will be horrible places to go.

People will be given a points system, the points will accumilate over time leading to various lenths of sentance - Eg 25 is 5 years, 50 is 10, 100 is life. So you smash a window and go to court, get your normal punishment as well as 5 points, you do it again and you get 10 points meaning you now have 15, you see where I'm going.

A lot more people should be hit in the pocket and with thier property, if you nick my video and go to court, the court will fine you the price of my video for me to get a new one, costs, the court will nick your video and you'll get 12 points.

You know my views on this one.

 

Young petty criminals (joyriders, vandals, etc.) should be taken outside their local town hall at 10am on market day (ie. Saturday in St Albans) and flogged, hard, in front of a jeering crowd, while strapped up against some railings.

 

This humiliation and corporal punishment will put an end to youth crime immediately.

 

I have strong feelings for this one.

My policy is as much about prevention as punishment. And we can nick their playstations for sick children if they offend.

i like the points system but would like to see the public humiliation flogging bit bought in before the prison option..

its cheap quick fking painful and gives the people who have had their lives ruined by teenage scum an instant feeling of retribution..

prison should be for people who still offend after this...plus a flogging first..

i think everyone deserves a few chances to fk up with shoplifting and petty crime.. but after a few warnings then thats it..

getting rid of the worst 5 per cent would probably reduce crime by 70 per cent
